Her London Bed - Arv D
i enjoyed this one ...
Very kind of you to say. I'm new to ABC tales (like this morning new), but so far it seems a most congenial place.
Arv D
congenial eh?
great little story mr D...look forward to reading more
I agree, it is a beautifully observed and personal piece from a mother's perspective. I love getting an insight into the attitudes of other cultures. I have two questions. 1) the lack of quotation marks, is that intentional, ie. to make the piece read more as though actually written by the mother?. 2) when I searched for your name there were two other names (both arv2d2) is that also you?
I too am new to this site, I only found out about it two days ago. So new in fact that I uploaded seven pieces and only remembered to copy the text on three of them! the others were just blank, I've added the actual text since. The site looks very good and there is a huge amount of stuff being loaded up (over seventy since the other day). So Hi to anyone reading this and look forward to getting some comments and reading some good stuff. I'm mainly a comedy writer who falls into poetry occasionally but you wouldn't guess from this comment would you? This reads like someone's uncle trying to organise a day trip for eight year olds!....."so, lets all have a fab time at the zoo eh kids? and remember to go pee-pee before we get on the coach"
Hello to two newcomers. I've liked stuff from both of you. Some good new people coming aboard at the minute - I would certainly recommend Dante to everyone, and Arv-d's piece is a must-read.
Have a paddle about and see what you like the look of. Most people respond to comments you send by email and you'll soon find some kindred spirits.
To respond to ely's questions:
- yes, i felt that quotations marks would give too strongly the formality of reported speach, this way its more in keeping with an ongoing stream of consciousness.
- yes, i unwittingly registered myself multiple times (could a kindly ABC editor UNregister the arv2d2 identities, please, I can't seem to manage it and the info@ABCtales.com address is giving me bounce back...?)
thanks to all for reading and encouragement.

I would also like to point people towards Jenn and Charliegirl65, both writing some strong, fine stuff (in a fey-mouse style, who I know has a lot of fans here).
very glad to see this story as story of the day ...
Jenn and Charliefirl65 each have a brilliant style, all their own
Yes - what I meant was that the people who like Fey's work will probably also like Jenn and Charliegirl.
