At 11.30, or in ten minutes time, Radio 4 is broadcasting a documentary about a poet going into an inner-city school in Newcastle to convince the kids there that poetry is useful for everyone.

Oo- er. Read this at 12.15! I'll have to go to the BBC website and hear it on there! Did he/she win? What were the odds? If he/she is anything like my Cheltenham picks they'll have fallen at the first fence. Ho Hum. That will be totally unintelligible to our American chums.

Yeah he kinda won. Apparently the teachers knew he'd got the kids' respect when they nicked all his books from the library.
