An offer you could refuse

This morning, I have received four places for a mystery screening of a film at Maidenhead UCI cinema. Unfortunately, my daughter at the tender age of six already has a social life and is going to see Spykids 3 with daddy. Still, I am intrigued to see this film and considering it is a 12A, at least it won't be Piglet's Big Movie.

Now if there are any ABCtalers local to Maidenhead, just drop me an e-mail before 4.15 and I'll try and reply. Even if you don't get this in time, you could risk going to the cinema on the offchance that 300 ABCtalers turn up (unlikely, the sods have to be prized from their homes on official ABC nights).

I will be the one in pink trousers.

(I was going to go but decided against sitting with Barbie-anon)

Well the offer is there and on a lazy Thursday night, what could be more fun?

What a wally; you have to be at the cinema at 6.30 pm or 18.30 if you are sophisticated. By the way, what would be your nightmare film? Mine would be Lara Croft.

Be concerned, be very concerned. Think of all the films you'd like it to be and i'll wish along with you, and it might come true. 12a Finding Nemo? maybe Pirates of the caribbean.

Despite Flash's scary prophecy, I am now leaving the house. So if you are there, I will be too. Please God let it be Nemo and not bloody Rowan Atkinson. I asked some friends to come and there was an odd reaction on the lines of 'Oooooh see a mystery film, that's a bit of a risk. I might not like it....' What is the world coming to? It's free and what's the worst that can happen? You just use your feet and walk out of there...

Easier to see in the dark, perhaps? The trousers, that is.

Pink indeed. What of it? (squares up to fight with Missi and then decides against it...he's a tough old thing). It was Calendar Girls. Not bad. Not great but certainly not bad. It did get me thinking though, how I used to go out a lot on my own (not because I was a no-friends, just because I liked it). I think that we all grow a little soft and dependent when in relationships or at least lose that audacious spirit. I certainly felt self-conscious, pink trousers or not... How about you? Are you happy alone? In pubs? Is it easier for men?

Pink pants are ok on a lady of a certain age, but definitely not on a young filly. I'm not a tough old anything Wolfie, especially where women are concerned. The only things easier for men Kath are such as being duped by a pretty face, conned into believing the things said pretty face tell them and parking a car.
