Beaches by Tycokaine

What do you make of this by tykokaine?

There are some nice touches:

So I spent my time absently trying to figure Scott out. Scott was an all right kind of guy; I always had the feeling that he wanted to be a bastard but somehow couldn’t get into the swing of it and ended up being nice by mistake

It has a Garland-esque quality, and though I didn’t rate ‘The Beach’ (and found the film even worse), I know there’s a market for such writing (I’m more a post-modern Auster fan myself). I personally cringe at the use of ‘thru’.

I also had difficulty in seeing the protagonist as female, even as a post apocalyptic freedom fighter lesbian.
