So Is Ian Paisley The Only Reason There's No Peace In Ulster?
I get the impression that the raging bigot is determined to go to the grave screaming about the IRA and how he'll have no truck with them. He's old and ill now, will there be a power struggle as in the case of the recently deceased ragtop? Will there finally be peace when the evil bastard hands his lamp and scraper in?
No because Robinson an McCartney will carry on where he leaves off.
They're a pair of evil bastards too.
No, not while that media manipulator Adams is about.
to be honest i can't see why decommissioning is such a big deal, it's all symbolic, they could decommission the arms, take nice little pictures, even let paisley put a gun in a crusher...and the next day could start buying arms again
both sides want to negotiate from a position of strength, neither want to be perceived as giving in, as being defeated, and paisley's language of wishing to humiliate the ira, is hardly likely to wring any more concessions from adams and co
There's an Ian Paisley junior isn't there, anyway?
i think jeffrey donaldson is the likely successor to paisley, he left the party led by trimble and joined paisley's lot, he has a high profile, but is biding his time, he's young enough to wait, trimble is a lot younger than paisley, and jeffrey seems an ambitious politician...probably more media friendly than paisley
Perhaps it's time that the british government just washed it's hands of ulster and told them to get on with it, after all it didn't bother them how many people got hurt in the 20's and since. I believe that most Brits want out anyway.
agree with you missi, i do want a united ireland, but also realise that it's very unlikely, but cast off ulster from the uk, let them survive on their own....
