Thanks so much for that Ralph. When I was a lass in school, part of our RE programme was about Euthanasia. One of the most powerful pieces of literature I read was an acount of Christmas day for 'David' in the hospice. David had terminal cancer. His mouth, tongue and throat were riddled with tumours. His whole face was distended. He stank, the rotting flesh in his mouth was beyond mouthwash. He was offered Christmas dinner but all he could manage were a few sips of liquidated turkey. People commented "It is so cruel" "If it was a dog it would be put down." BUT David is NOT a Dog. He is a man - a human.

Poor Terry Schiavo. Every group wants to shove a stick up her ass and use her as a placard to advertise their own message.

She's dead for chrissakes.

What makes people well is respect and for there issues to be dealt with in a resonable and intelligent manner. Not to just belittle peoples spirituality, religion, beliefs ect. This hurts people. Its something a lot of british people are good at yet they seem to be the only ones. In britain people dont know what the word respect means nor do they know what the word compassion means.
