Teeth Tales - The Results!

Posted by airyfairy

Many, many thanks to all who entered the Teeth Tales competition, and to ScoZen for setting it and for letting me judge it! A very pleasurable task – it’s obviously a subject that both recalls funny situations and produces some wild flights of fancy. Thanks again to everyone!

The Gold Medal goes to SoulFire77’s ‘Ratoncito Perez Is Not A Fairy’. As a Fairy, I will overlook the odd disparaging remark about my kind, because this is original, funny, slightly disconcerting, and a thoroughly enjoyable read. Congratulations! Teeth Tales: "Ratoncito Pérez is Not a Fairy" | ABCtales

Silver Medal goes to ‘Brian’s Mayans’ by Makis. Gloriously bonkers, historically informative, and superbly written. Congratulations! Teeth Tales: Brian's Mayans | ABCtales

Our Bronze Medallist is Turlough, for ‘The Miser’s Guide to Molars’. I had a bit of a tussle with my Tooth Fairy colleague about this one, seeing as it constitutes threats to her person, but in the end she agreed to forgive because of the quality of the poem, merely muttering that he should watch out if he ever loses one of his own pearlies. Congratulations! Teeth Tales - The Miser’s Guide to Molars | ABCtales

And Honourable Runner Up is GlosKat for ‘A Song For My Dentist’, a plea for empathy for the dental profession. I’ll try and remember this one at my next appointment with the Drill Fairy. Congratulations! Teeth Tales – a Song For My Dentist | ABCtales

Hope everyone is getting ready for our new wonderful Challenge!

Excellent choices. yes

I really enjoyed all these entries.  Well done to Scozen for thinking of it.  Jay's Tooth Mouse was my favourite too !

Many thanks for the award airy. I've created a space next to my cycling proficiency badge for the mental image. It was a very enjoyable challenge and I look forward to the next.

What a coincidence! I was at the dentist's when these results were announced. I wonder now if there might be any financial gain to be had from leaving the fragments of an old filling under my pillow tonight.

Oh, and very well done to everyone who took part in the task and GlosKat for suggesting it.

Noo !  Credit where credit is due, it was ScoZen's idea !  The Alphabet Challenge was my idea and I'm unlikely to get two good ideas in one year..

Oh, you're absolutely right Kat. I do apologise. And well done ScoZen. I don't know what I was thinking. Blame the anaesthetic.

This challenge was fantastic! Thank you so much for the gold medal! Ratoncito Pérez is very common in Spanish and Hispanic cultures in place of the Tooth Fairy. I thought it would be funny if he were a grumpy old mouse that didn't like the confusion about the two.

I did hesitate, for just a moment, before hitting the save button - I have to tell you. I'm glad everyone had a good sense of humor about the poem.

Personally, I love fairies, everybody knows this. Some of my best friends are fairies. I perform volunteer work for the fairy community. I always yell "I do believe in fairies, I do, I do" at the screen when Peter Pan is playing on Netflix.
