Full Moon Madness?

i'm sure i once read an article which linked creativity with the phases of the moon ...

once i knew a poet ... fair enough he was pretty bonkers anyway ... but i lost count of the number of times i had to snatch him from the brink of strange mad things around the full moon ...

any talers got any theories about these links ...?

*happily admits that none of the above were him* the only madness tonight was me giving in to the bloodsuckers at my door because I was @!#$ scared of what they would do if I didn't empty the contents of my fridge into their booty sacks. (not the beer of course)

I don't know what it is the same thing happens to me... When it gets close to the point of a full moon and when it is a full moon I feel this intense energy rush through me.. I can't explain it too well... I go a bit crazy.. not a bad crazy though.. just a bit manic and trippy. It almost feels like the fabric that divides the realms of my mind becomes very thin during these times... It doesn't bother me though like I say its not a bad crazy though some people don't know what to make of me cause I go a bit speedy and manic... I will be back to this thread later. I am going to surf the web and hunt down some information about this for you... cause theres definately something about it. The moon affects the water on earth, and our bodies are made up of 70% water, so its possible that the moon is affecting us. Also the word lunatic is interesting. I think it is a word used to describe people who are affected strangely by the moon.

I agree, the moon does indeed control me. Sometimes I feel a strange almost grieving for something but I'm not sure what it is. Funky, I also feel a bit trippy and strange and I feel as though somethings about to happen.... When I am in one of these moods, my fella will say "It must be a full moon" Corny, but it is always true. I look out the window and there it is. Great big fat glowing moon!!! When the full moon is out, I feel as though I could do something really stupid or dangerous....I wish I knew more about this strange phenomon(spell check)

well i am pondering moving back to sheffield next summer ... and whilst i am less than concerned about footie teams i am rather longing for a vibrant and exciting lit scene ... is there one? the Murky Harbour lit scene consisted this year of a visit to a bookshop by a man who wrote a book about forensics ...

Simon66 I lived in Sheffield for three years. Where do you lived. And as for my theory about the moon.... Humans are made up of 70 percent water, and there is a lot of water present within the cranium. We have all seen the affects the moon has on tides with the force of gravitational pull. I think that the moon also has a gravitational pull on the human brain which affects different areas. In some people it puts pressure on the more creative side of things. On others, it make them act insane, hence a lunatic.

Full moon and creativity? I'm usually too busy trimming the hair on the backs of my hands to do any writing.

i read an article bout this. it claimed a lot of writers become more prolific during full moon, well known ones course i've forgotten which ones...also that prisons and psychiatric units report more incidents. more crime occurs too.

stormy, re bloodsuckers, i had 4 visits in the space of 20 minutes and didn’t realise until the last one that it was the same kids each time [the cunning imps were swapping masks to confuse me]...by 8 o'clock i had nothing left but tartlets

Did you slightly mis-type there, Jasmin? Did you mean to say; Can't beat humour for making life more palatable. Excuse my ignorance, which knows no bounds, but I've never heard of 'Nell'. Care to enlighten me. As usual I'm v. thirsty for the only drink stronger and more dangerous than absinthe, knowledge. Am off now to find a big full moon to howl at.

i do not believe that the full moon affects me in any way ... it never leads to ... for example ... the Unwise Snogging of Someone I Shouldn't Snog ...

When the moon is up, over the silver lake, and the blue leaves glitter, and the white night wakes, my veins are filled with electric fire, and I long to be sated, it's flesh I desire. To tear and slash and hear such groans, that sweet sweet sound, of anguished moans. The eyes reflecting absolute terror, that death has come from simple errors. Above all things there is a dish, I long to taste her name is `Fish`!
