Grab your Granny!

Dear ABCtalers,

As you will now know, we launched the first ever ABCtales 'Grab your Granny' campaign yesterday aimed at encouraging people to sit down over Christmas and capture all those great stories of how granny met grandad, the naughtiest thing your dad did as a child, who your neighbour's first love was and so on.

Some of you may have heard John Bird, brains behind ABCtales and youngABCtales editor Jane McNamara on the radio yesterday. We had a whole day of interviews lined up from Lanarkshire to Leicestershire, Surrey to Somerset and finished with a live slot on Radio 2's Johnnie Walker show!

We want you to start an ABC set of tales from your friends and family and keep them safe for years to come - here on ABCtales.

And while you're at it why not send us your favourite photos of Granny too for the home page. You can email these to emilyd@abctales.com as jpegs 130 x300 pixels....but check with granny first, if you can.

Everyone has a story to tell.

Blimey martin, Binghamstown near the golf course! My dad's from Doohoma, and my mum was from Geesala and I still have family living in Belmullet whom your dad will probably know. Is he a Walsh or a Riley?

Great Susan, me too! Am hoping to sit down with my dad this Christmas and catch loads of tales from his childhood in a tiny village on the west coast of Ireland.
