Erm... I heard of those... I'm not sure of the price. But I personally wouldn't buy one because I hear it could get a lot of things you say wrong ... which might get really frustrating. If you do something like that, don't buy the cheapest! Whereas with a keyboard, you're more in control. But, then again, I've never used one. So, let's see what the other talers have to say about it. (I'd also feel pretty silly actually talking what I write down! Might help me with dialogue, though ... hmmm....)

"Strike that" - I've used one and it drove me nuts - you have to say "comma" - "full stop" etc and if you - well it makes a mistake "strike that" - can you imagin the effect it has upon normal life - you get into the habit of saying "full stop" etc - so when your having a conversation the brain starts to use them without thinking - oh and having hic ups when using it - is not reckonmended - believe me I know ! You have to speak clearly and consistent which I wont go into - and you have to train it to recognise your voice - which means hours of reading various stories and so on then by the time you've trained and are using the dam thing, it decides it doesn't know you anymore and you end up having to go through the same process again But there again I am on an old computer and therefore using an old, very old version of it which I haven't updated - can't afford to at the moment and am not sure if I want to come to that don't know how having a camera would improve you typing unless you and others want to see your expressions whilst you strain to type - but think about it if your sitting there in your jim jams - do you really want people to see you at your worse - first thing in the morning or late at night - or dinner time when half your meal went down the front of your jumper ..... not of course that I do any of those things ........

I do know what you are both on about as it must be easily 5yrs ago I had one of these head phones and mike the lot and can remember now like yourselves all the frustration I had with that, I was so disapointed at the time as it cost me a fair bit back then and I thought it was going to be the be all and end all solving all my problems also as always age wise I blamed myself brain wise for not understanding how it worked especially when I tried so hard with it, don't quite know where it went in the end. Both your threads have at the very least made me feel better knowing now I wasn't so stupid as I always think I am when I don't grasp things quickly. I'm not online as much as I use to be Jay and when I am I tend to go into Ukauthors - they have their own wayside there - nothing wrong with here having said that and I do pop back ever now and then just to see whats happening more than to post Jay - My Gran use to say "if you dont ask you wont know" - she also use to say "I dont know everthing as I'm still learning so that dont make my stupid - how does this work? and why do I need it ?" I go along with that all the time - if you dont know then how can you be stupid?
