The Twits and Leukaemia

Dear Friend

I dont give a monkeys if you think this is shameless publicity, this is a fantastic cause.

We would like to invite you and your family to a gala performance of Roald Dahl’s children’s favourite THE TWITS on Sunday December 14th at 2.45pm at The UCL Bloomsbury Theatre, Gordon Street, WC1.

All proceeds from the Auction to be donated to The Great Ormond Street Leukaemia Reach Appeal

To buy tickets, call the box office on 0207 3888822 or book online at www.thebloomsbury.com. All tickets £25

Initiated in Spring 2003, the REACH Leukaemia Appeal was launched with the purpose of raising approximately £1.2 million for the advancement of pioneering research work into infant and childhood leukaemia at the Molecular Haematology and Cancer Biology Unit (MHCB) at the Institute of Child Health and Great Ormond Street Hospital in London. The unit leads the way in the UK in the fields of understanding leukaemia and evolving new, less toxic treatments to treat the disease.

There are currently over 400 new cases of leukaemia in children a year, with the disease accounting for almost half the cases of childhood cancer in the UK. One in 10 UK children affected by the disease are treated at Great Ormond Street, and children are referred from all over Europe, the Middle East and Africa.

Great Ormond Street Hospital is regarded as one of the finest specialist paediatric hospitals in the world and treats over 90,000 children a year, both from the UK and overseas. Its research partner the Institute of Child Health is the leading British academic research institution for child health.

By providing funds for this research platform, the REACH Leukaemia Appeal aims to be an important building block in the discovery and implementation of improved treatments and a long-term cure for infant and childhood leukaemia.

ps. My Father has this disease and this time its not about showbiz.

Thanks a lot.
