The disadvantage is, a shhhhhit thread like this can "pop..." ooh! "to the top" just cause I f**king want it to.

Free your mind people it's great really. You can think back to your last post and which thread it was on then just read any threads above that post, safe in the knowledge that you haven't missed any of the urbanity often cast, liberally, about these here threads. Chronological order is the future! This is the NEW THREAD ORDER unt any attempts to resist vill be futile unt enemies ov ze system vill be schott! I never used to l,ook at the right hand column before, now it's the main reference on the threads page, isn't that sweet? It never got a look before, it was just there at the side, envious of the 'number of posts' column that was getting all the attention. Well the eye's on the other column now buddy boy!

i don't like it ... but then i don't adapt well to change ... there was something natural in an ebb and flow sense about old threads dropping off the bottom and rotting away in the compost bucket of abc ...

A voice proberly in the wilderness "I don't like it either and find it very confusing" and also don't like change, tend to think if its not broken why try mending it...

I think threads died a natural death, and this new system is likely to lead to a great many threads about bullying, cherries and 'the three whys men' staying on the top and being revived long past the point of interest to anyone who isn't reviving them. I vote for the old DNR approach.

Now, now, let's all give it a chance, let it settle in and then see how we feel about it.
