I joined UKA when it was born. I have no problem with posting material on either here or on UKA.
It kinda figures that PHPNuke couldnt cope. Ironic that one of my bits gets a most read the week the site is suspended.
I am hoping that UKA comes back up again.
While I wasn't an initial member (tried spelling inaugr... member but have had too much to drink) on either site, I post on both and am very fond of both. I found abc first through a mate, but then found uka through here - those were the days, referrals rather than rebukes.
How the crap do you spell the thing the word that's linked to the word that happens to presidents when they're first put in power?
And is anyone else getting those pop ups about spyware? They're really annoying.
My husband could never afford to pay that, he spends all his disposable on porcupin-cushions and bailing that banjo-playing toad out of his gambling debts. But Jasper is right, I am utterly terrified of George and do anything that he asks of me, being a feeble-minded person.

Let me say unequivocally that ABC has no dispute with UKA. We have always tried to be supporotive of each other and I have nothing but respect for Andrea and Richard. Technology, when you have no money, is very difficult. I don't think that many of you realise the time, effort and hard cash that goes into these sites - and all for no reward.
I, along with Mark, David and Stephen, wish UKA all the very best and truly hope that their problems are overcome swiftly. We welcome those that come here in the meantime and trust that we can continue to live in a spirit of co-operation.
The sites are different in the way they are run - and that allows you lot to choose between us if you so wish. What more could you want?

Anyway, isn't it good that work provokes a reaction- any reaction? Negative or otherwise. And anger- that emotion fairly alien to me until just recently- its catching!! And it feels good. God, oh god, god Jasper.

Hey, being nice to it doesn't work. I lovingly placed a bacon sand witch right next to it and it STILL didn't work. I ignored it for a bit, y'know- did the girlie huffy thing- even turned my back on it for a bit (took a few sneaky glances over my shoulder, but I wasn't caught). And the machine STILL don't work. Can type msgs, just in case you think I may have lost it, but can't get work on. Odd. Tra la la la la.

Well, I came too late to intervene, but still, it seems to need saying from time to time. There is no need for any emnity between abc and UKA and I am very glad that this was only a temporary blip. I still think it is a shame that thoughtcafe disappeared.
As to your remarks, Jasper, I would have to point out that Andrea is probably one of only two people I've ever met in my life who knows more about libel law than me, so I'd be a little bit careful about allegations like that.

"into my gut" doesnt quite give it a universal feel or have the same ring.

Ah well, when you live in a one-horse backwoods hamlet inhabited by a total of 600 (discounting the OAP's and kids that means about 200 consenting adults) there isn't much else to do but crap all over a website 10,000 miles away.
I think UKA must be a real powerful force to be reckoned with if its 'plot' is the subject of 'The Australia Computer Crime Authority and Microsoft'
Plus, they are soooooooooo amazingly powerful that they've even hacked their own site and caused themselves all sorts of disruption!
