(not sure whether it is, but anyway, when I googled I found quite
a few similar)
Emily didn't say 'waging wars on other sites' you dullard. Read the post again.
>>>And people like you and others here, Strummy, have no idea what this world actually lost when she left it...but you will...and much sooner than you expect<<<
?
Hey J-lo,
Have you ever written anything readable?
that would appear to be a review of a book by Lauren Colon (Aiyana) by her best friend it seems. (OBJECTIVE STUFF)
the only other review gives it 3 out of seven... less than half.
so how does this example of a seemingly poor quality book by Aiyana/lauren/lulu tell us that Silke Lance was a good poet exactly?
it doesn't does it Jasp, eh? my old mucker? it's just total garbage again isn't it eh, Jasp' my old bed strap? it's yet more utter nonsense aint it, eh, Jasp you old rubber sheet needin' tosspot?
yes, Ely, it is.
Woah! hang on, I'm talking to myself like that clever chappie Jason, Grasper... err, Jacobs.. casper.. whatever he's called does aren't I?
Well yes, Ely, technically you are but it's all wrong.
really Ely?
Yeah. first it makes some sense and secondly... boom banga bang treble top in a carrier bag.
there, that's better.
almost perfect, now you just have to mention Syntax as often as you can whenever anyone points out how illiterate you appear... pooh wang McTavish in the elderly my dear.. oh and remember the question marks?
what about them?
no, I mean remember the question marks?
nope.
It's not a question!!! ?
oh?
yes?
I see now... syntax on a radio bike blaaaap?
that's better?
Sin tax? isn't that what the devil pays on extra souls?
now now! stop that! that was nearly coherent and even funny?
sorry, shawl butties syntax dweeenmacheeen?
... and finally make yourself out to be a saint and genuine dear heart over someone's death and not a slightly stalkerish nutter.
..ahem!
.. oh sorry, err.. stalkerish nutter-blimpverts on mars syntax?
will do.. syntax babble bobble bingo I have a gun but it's just to protect the innocent CLAXTON?
well done, good night, sweet dreams.
they usually are if you take out the S and an E
fnar fnar!
crazy? I've shat it!!!!
what r u on about ely ??????
First, it's "sista", not "fella". I assure you that I'm very much female.
Second, I'm a complete stranger to you. Until I posted at this message board, yesterday, you can I have never corresponded or interacted in any mannner.
Third, Tobias isn't "Silke's" brother; he's her lover and fellow con artist. The couple lives in Finland.
Yes, the "Silke" scam was very thorough and lasted for quite a while. Quite a few intelligent, educated people were scammed by it.
You don't want to believe me? Just consider the scenario. When I first encountered "Silke" a few years ago, she claimed that she was 20 years old with not-one-but-two doctorates. The timeline simply doesn't fit. It takes years to achieve a PhD. Even an extraordinary prodigy -- for example, someone who'd graduated from college at age 14 -- wouldn't have time to earn two PhDs by age 20. Also, "Silke" said that she'd already suffered through a marriage to an abusive psychopath. When did she have time, what with the dual PhD and all, to have that relationship? The whole situation is implausible.
While you're at it, take a look at the various drawings that "Silke" claimed as her own. The styles vary significantly among the different works. If you look closely, you'll find faint and subtle, but nonetheless very visible, signatures by the real artists.
me? nowt.
did you know that your name is Jamaican for "I'm off"?
mine ???? oooh cool
no, no, I got that. phd Germany.
I gotta say Casper, that don't say 'good poet' to me, it says 'Oppenheimer' if anything.
and how does YOUR BEST FRIEND having a German Phd make them objective when reviewing YOUR book of poetry?
.. "Oh come off it Silke, she's your best mate, you're bound to say it's good!"
.."err excuse me but I happen to have a PHD from Germany no less"
.."Oh well, that's alright then"
you see jazzyboy? you don't even have enough of a grasp on the English language to understand the meaning of 'objective' do you?
oh, and it's Silke, not Slike, I'd have thought you would have known that being her champion and all.
But enough of this. I didn't want to engage in any kind of discourse with you I just felt that your attempts to generate sympathy and appreciation from the suggested violent death of someone you seem to have never even met needed grounding a little before you started searching for suits of armour on ebay.
what does it have to do with me? well nothing actually I'm just another reader of these threads with an opinion.
Is it just me, or are Jasper's messages completely unintelligible? I believe he's mentioned being from Australia, which does suggest that English is his first language.
whoah. so this lady's husband offed her and somehow it was due to her husband writing three poems a day, and only you knew this was going to happen? what are you? an imbecile? this is utter tripe and some kind of cock-eyed manipulation and esteem-bolstering hogwash....get a grip.
and she has a phd from germany? a german phd? versprung doct technik? is that a phd in objectivity? or a phd in losing one's mind by spending all day and night writing to god-knows-how-many-different-forums?
sheesh.
again, you're so wide of the mark as to be antipodean from it as well as
(thankfully) me.
just look at your last post
uneducated how? uninformed? (practically the same thing really) how?
they were a response to the information you gave!
You go on to talk bollocks for the rest of the post about inferiority complexes (me? now you ARE kidding, what I wouldn't give for one of those! Only one person has met me from ABC but I think it's safe to say that most on here would confirm I'm not suffering from an inferiority complex Jas)
and YOUR criticism of your friends' art is relevant how exactly?
you seem to be avoiding any references to the poetry of the afformentioned Silke Lance which was the original point I made. As for who started this thread, well it wasn't me so go piss up someone else's tree Rover.
you continue to talk utter nonsense as ever.
"flim flam syntax"
"what's that Jasper?.. there's a boy trapped down a well?"
"bimble doodle rising half hitch"
"come on boy! you can do it! what's the matter Jas? can you lead us to him, can ya boy?"
"Tintgle tangle road rash syntax!"
"Blimey Bruce, I think he's on about some Shiela caught in a web or somethin! come on Jasper, what is it boy? is she hurt? can you get us there if we follow in the jeep mate?"
"wag-wag on a thesaurus!!!"
"Oh, looks like he's no idea where she is mate, better leave it and get back to those tinnies, I'm as dry as an abbo's elbow. bloody roos! jabbering away like that, it's enough to give a bloke a scare... hey, pass me gun mate would ya?"
jasper you strike me as a sad fantasist. i have nothing but pity for you, to spend so much time inflicting your desperate crawing need for the gobbets of esteem garnered from a website forum. these overwraught tales suggest a personality in desperate need of acknowledgement. poor you.
Jasper, You're not the first person to become fixated on an internet persona. Con artists, scammers, and liars have been around for as long as the human race has existed. They deceive all the things that are good about our species -- trust, honesty, and kindness. The internet, so anonymous and far-reaching, is nothing more than a new medium for such people to do their work.
The person you believe to be "Silke" is alive and well. She killed off her "Silke" identity a couple of months ago and is now using another name.
You're obviously not willing to admit that you were duped. For your own sake, I just hope that you haven't sent any money to this person.
By the way, why don't search the internet for news about the death of Silke Stina Embla Witte Hermann Lance, January 24, 2005? If such a remarkable person had really lived, wouldn't there have been at least one obituary, death notice, or news item about her passing?
what a surprise...
sorry - forgot to make live.
I know it's not news but thought it might be useful for the
respond or notters.
Hey... thanks for the site, might make myself a little home there. See the intro page, interesting.
As for Jasper, well... sigh.
The Village Idiot strikes again...
How about this one then:
our old friend johnjasper666
definately a deviant.
yuk!
i am confused!!!!!!!!!
Fuck, they sell good drugs in Australia. I'm surprised you can even find the keys on your PC. Incoherent as that was, at least there was some style in it. Now, all we need is some substance.
Can I suggest that Jasper is - secretly - a much loved and valued member of this site ?
The interest generated by his posts seems disproportionate to users' views that he's a twat who should be ignored.
Let's face it - you chaps love him...and ya can't live without him (or someone like him)!
Jasper is quite mad... but I do like snippets of him, as in above.. he is so different. He is also enthusiatic about other peoples work, which is no bad thing. Maybe he will become ok in time when he learns that there are no 'real' enemies around here (don quixote comes to mind). At the moment he is more interested in gushing than in engaging with anyone... let him be, the flow will ebb after after awhile. Not responding to anything a) that is negative b) that is of no interest to you , is a good rule to have when playing around here. Some people do it admirably, whilst others just get het up about everything that does not 'conform' to their minds... they can be in my view just as much of a problem as the occasional errant posters, because they bring out the worst in them.
Di you take drugs Jasper? What is your view on drugs?
Sooo........
John is it? although the above link shows a bloke who 'says' he lives in USA.
odd but then again so is Jasper J.A.S
Yes, lleg...there's a passion in his nonsense which is endearing...
Writing has as much to do with passion as it does structural and grammatical conformity...some people on this site write crisp, sensible, well punctuated, sleep inducing sentences and take great pride in dismissing others who don't follow suit...
Thank goodness for the occasional rita and jasper,I say!
I just get tired reading Jaspar's posts... there are so many words and I don't seem to have enough eyes or brian cells to take it in. It reminds me of reading a dictionary out of sequence.
When one person takes up all the posting space it sort of becomes a headache. I like to read everyone's work and their posts, but I do feel a sort of dip in my heart to go on the first forum and see jasper jasper jasper jasper. And I wish we could talk in a respectful way to each other and enjoy the sharing of ideas. I see far to many pieces of punctuation and bad spelling on here, which sort of makes a mockery of a writing site.
(I know my spelling/grammar isn't always up to scratch, but at least I lay my posts out so that they are easy to read.)
tee hee - 'brian cells'
why are you folk even bothering with this ******?
I don't think it would take all the fun and mystery out of spontaneity Jasper. What is the point of spontaneity if nobody understands what you are talking about?
It doesn't take long to take a quick look over what you have written, to make sure that it is at least half-way clear. People - in general - come on here because they love writing and the chance to share ideas about writing and any other thing that passes their mind.
If they want to be yelled at, ranted at, exclamation marked at, they will go and stand at their local bus stop.
I would also say that those sort of posts make me miss out reading ones I'm interested in, and sort of alienate me from other members of the site.
Noggin - I can only speak for myself, but the reason I have responded so many times to Jasper and am now so frustrated is because I thought he had the capability to be a really useful and interesting contributor to the forum, if he could stop responding angrily and paranoically to every single post. I still hope that he might, but I'm no longer trying.
I think Gerry one-leg is right - the best approach is to not respond to aggression and nonsense, but to not be blinkered and assume the worst of someone just because they've disappointed you in the past.
you've got to admire whoever it was who faked that appalling poetry ... such atrocious stuff is very hard to pull off ...
Ohhh-boy...this is priceless...
A Friend of a Friend story. FOF....
J-lo, you're a priceless twit.
heh, the above three posts were made by the same person.
Take your anti-jasper campaign elsewhere (shall I spell it out?) we are more than capable of dealing with jasper without your help and without having to ban him, thanks.
I suppose what I meant, Jasper, is that I would actually be interested in what you were saying if I knew what it was you were saying. Does that make sense? I sometimes struggle to know what you mean, so I couldn't tell you if I agree with you or not.
I never said I was bored of this post - or of any of your posts. I said I find them hard to understand and alienating.
I have been a poster on this site for about a year now, sometimes more than others, and I would like to think that one thing I am not in my posts is inhibited (have you ever read any of my work?), and also I like to decode stuff... but not necessariy in a conversation. For example, I wouldn't speak French to someone speaking to me in Spanish, well I might, but I wouldn't be surprised when they looked at me as though I was talking gibberish.
Starch in my shirt. I love the idea of that.
You said: I always exercise charity, and consider that I'm better than no-one and no-one's better than me?
I wouldn't know that about you, because I can't understand your posts. That was all I was saying.
Emily wrote: "[H]ow on earth would you know from visiting a poetry website that Silke's life was in danger?"
Those are very wise words. I'd like to expand on them: How on earth would you know from visiting a poetry website that Silke really existed and was anything that she claimed to be?
"Silke" was a fabrication -- a false identity and a sham. The hoax was very convincing and fooled many honest, trusting people. "Silke" populated the internet for about 3 years. Plenty of intelligent people bought into her entirely fictional persona -- young genius, artist, poet, anoretic, and battered ex-wife. Then, in late-January 2005, "Silke" faked her own death (at the hands of a non-existent, abusive ex-husband), only to be miraculously resurrected and furious that she'd been found out.
There's nothing to mourn. "Silke" never lived, so she certainly couldn't die. The liar(s) behind the scam have moved on.
[%sig%]
I agree with Noggin the Nog. What a decent chappie he seems to be!
Chin up!
*pours the day's first glass of Famous Grouse*
Is there anyone here who cares?
i put silke lance in my search engine and all i got was some bloody awful poetry ...
I don't lie to anyone...including you young twit.
?
Ohhh, J-lo. You think you are a problem to me, how pretty. You’re no problem for me at all. A problem is something that needs solving. I solved you the first time you spouted your twaddle. I find you to be of average intelligence and with below average creativity. You're a tired old act and I've seen it a hundred times before. Your act may fool 19 year old college girls or sheepish little boys, but you are as transparent and weak as dog water to me. I won't speak for the others; they have their own ways. As for me, well, I don't let shit slide that easy. Never have, never will. (Sorry Andrew, you tried to be nice and so did I.)
The story of Silke Lance may or may not be heart-rending, Jasper, but it is just not interesting to people who have never met her or spoken to her. And it is important to remember sometimes that we never know that something is true in the real world just because someone says it on an electronic screen.
I'm concerned by the tone of your posts here, Jasper - how on earth would you know from visiting a poetry website that Silke's life was in danger, just because her husband was writing three poems a day. I desperately hope that I'm wrong in this, because I don't think that badly of you, but the way you've constructed your sentences there suggests that you were the ex-husband.
Please don't take this as an invitation to tell me more - I just have no interest in people using this site to wage wars that started on another site. Take it outside, please.
i ll stick here thanks
Too dull to justify a longer response.
