This kid needs our help

This was sent to me by a friend in Texas who has asked me to help. Perhaps some of you would take the time to help also. It was sent to me as an email and to maintain the tracking and count needs the original mail forwarding. As I wouldn't want to annoy anybody with what they may see as unwanted mail I ask all those willing to help to either email me or list there names on this thread and at the weekend I'll forward the mail to whoever has requested it. I have rearranged the mail here for ease of reading. Thanks.

-----------------------------------------------------------------------

This poem was written by a terminally ill young girl in a New York Hospital.

It was sent by a medical doctor.

It is the request of a special little girl who will soon leave this world as she has cancer.
Please send this to everyone you know or don't know.
This little girl has 6 months left to live, and as her dying wish,
She wanted to send a letter telling everyone to live their life to the fullest, since she never will.
She'll never make it to prom, graduate from high school, or get married and have a family of her own.
By you sending this to as many people as possible, you can give her and her family a little hope, because with every name that this is sent to,

The American Cancer Society

will donate 3 cents per name to her treatment and recovery plan.
One guy sent this to 500 people! So I know that we can send it to at least 5 or 6.

Just think it could be you one day. It's not even
your money, just your time!

PLEASE FORWARD THIS TO HELP THIS LITTLE GIRL.

ALL FORWARDED E-MAILS ARE TRACKED TO OBTAIN THE TOTAL COUNT.

THANK YOU.

SLOW DANCE

Have you ever watched kids
On a merry-go-round?
Or listened to the rain
Slapping on the ground?
Ever followed a butterfly's erratic flight?
Or gazed at the sun into the fading night?
You better slow down.
Don't dance so fast.
Time is short.
The music won't last.

Do you run through each day
On the fly?
When you ask How are you?
Do you hear the reply?
When the day is done
Do you lie in your bed
With the next hundred chores
Running through your head?
You'd better slow down
Don't dance so fast.
Time is short.
The music won't last.

Ever told your child,
We'll do it tomorrow?
And in your haste,
Not see his sorrow?
Ever lost touch,
Let a good friendship die
Cause you never had time
To call and say,"hi"
You'd better slow down.
Don't dance so fast.
Time is short.
The music won't last.

When you run so fast to get somewhere
You miss half the fun of getting there.
When you worry and hurry through your day,
It is like an unopened gift....
Thrown away.
Life is not a race.
Do take it slower
Hear the music
Before the song is over.

whatever the origin of the poem, it's still a heart-touching piece of work. don't pull the thread!

missi... i hate to say this, but i first saw this two years ago.... i think it maybe once had its roots in truth, but not anymore. Its impossible to track emails in that fashion to gain money anyway, as far as i know. Its sad, but it gets to people, because of course, everyone wants to help such a cause... sadly, it provides nothing for any kid.

disregarding the truth of the e-mail, the poem certainly touched my heart. Life is too short. it is not a dress rehearsal, go for it everytime. I am.

I'll forward it anyway. Mississippi, if you can send the e-mail to my hotmail to my work (POSAd) e-mails I'll be grateful. It's no use sending to my Supanet e-mail as I still have a virus on it, so I can receive nut not send. If you need the e-mail addresses I'll forward them to you.

no thanks from me too karl..... bet no kid got a cent either fish. i hate the way these emails play on peoples feelings... of COURSE people want to help. but these emails are just spam. people like missi that genuinely care cant pass them by though... when i first saw this email, i too passed it on, and am as such responsible for continuing its existance.

I have to confess to feeling very silly over this email now, but I can assure everyone my intentions were good. At the time I felt it was a genuine opportunity for all the caring people here to help someone less fortunate. Even at my advanced age I still show signs of innocence and gullibility! In fact I feel so silly I've emailed Emily and asked if she would pull the thread, thanks for your replies anyway :-).
