I react really badly. I discovered a lump on my neck this morning, right on the cartoid or whatever farking artery it is, and immediately thought I had a blood clot climbing towards my male hypochondriac brain. Mrs stormy was not best pleased at being interrupted at work to diagnose something she could not see, and only had a madman's description - 'it's getting larger as I speak!' 'If only...' she replied. Later, I found the big fat b.astard asleep and swatted it. Not my fault she was tired.

Camomile lotion for existing bites - eat kilos of garlic as repellent. That way you should have a fun time. Pink 'n' stinky. Sorry :-(

An apple a day keeps the doctor away, but a garlic a day keeps everyone away (even mosquitoes evidently...didn't know that).

Cross the bites with your thumb nail. Very deep and very hard. It will alliviate the itching and will feel great. And will also help the swelling go down. Eat as little sugar as possible (except for booze of course) because they're attracted to it when it comes out in your skin.
