Family by Spack
This is a wierd little gem from Spack. I love the tension between the siblings and the Coronation Chicken sandwich. I'm thinking about the meaning of it all in my limited way. Is this a sort of metaphor for the way close family members meddle with each other's brains and leave stuff behind? This is what it did for me anyway, and with that in mind I think it's highly successful and original.
Mine too. The Fecal tea that is. I want to read it...
Certainly. I'm planning to begin the project in earnest as soon as I've finished 'Manley & I'.
Have your Just For Men ready.
er, that came out a bit wrong up there. I wasn't implying that there was tension between the siblings and the sandwich!! Having a dyslexic moment(no disrespect Pi and John).
It ate his ring. Pretty mad.
The end line is good - but isn't it the same end line as 'Breakfast'?
Yup. I'm trying out stealing things from my poetry and using it in my prose.
I would like to write a story where there is tension between siblings and sandwiches.
Thanks for the flag, Emma.
Tim, you suck.
You guys obviously know each other pretty well huh?
I really need to know a bit more about the story though Spack. It intrigues me.
Thanks for the feedback, Joe.
How about a story in which some tragic - yet ambiguously portrayed - accident befalls the narrator?
But like... the thing eats the ring. If only Dorothy Malloy had thought of that, instead of getting the army in. Your prose is still grand, mate.
I am going to ignore Tim.
Emma, I didn't plan the story so I had no great meaning I was aiming towards but I think you're right - I was just trying to say something about the relationship between siblings. I wrote it is a present (strange gift eh?) for my sister. I suppose it's about the give and take and the intimacy between siblings. I wasn't trying to make a judgement, I was just trying to portray the uniqueness of the relationship between brothers and sisters.
No, I'm not going to ignore Tim. Maybe I ought to set the story in Japan, Tim? And instead of me wearing a ring, I'd be holding a samurai sword.
You see what I've done? Your stories are sometimes set in the East and so I've made a joke about it...
Damn, I'm good.
Joe
Thanks for that Spack. I love these new ways of exploring relationships, especially close ones, and your story spoke to me, which is unusual 'cos I don't usually go for goo.
I have children and it is most rewarding watching the dynamics of their relationships with each other. They are so lucky, my kids, I'm an only child.
Yeah, siblings do rock. I hope your kids don't start depositing jewellery in each other's brains though. That might be unhealthy...
They're madly in love with each other my kids. They're always cuddling. I just hope it lasts.
No disrespect taken. Emma.
eh?
I'm thick, please explain.
Oh, did you get my e-mail reply today, John?
You're not thick, you are just having a dyslexic day? 'See top of thread Emma!
No to the E-Mail.
Heck, I'll re-send.
Oh, sorry, I didn't roll up to the top of the thread. Bit dreamy tonight, sorry.
Straight to the jugular is where it belongs Emma! Go get them girl.
HAHAHAHAHA
you got it then, John!?
I seem to have logged two contacts for you in Outlook Express.
Whoever has been receiving them by mistake will be very confused!
Cheers John!
I'll try and use the right one next time.
God! I hope it's not my mum? See Ya!
Shh. I am currently devising the *ultimate* proem. Not only does it feature a tragic - yet ambiguously portrayed - accident befalling a honey-headed chap on a two-wheeled vehicle, *not only* does it take place at a turning point in Japanese history and feature a ghostly ancestor wreaking havoc in a way that might be interpreted as an allegory, *not only* will it be rendered *totally* unreadable by the self-consciousness of youth, but *in addition*, as an added bonus, it will end with me being rogered by a goat in the world's most beguiling latrine.
It's called 'For Fistbatch of Pomes, Whoever He May Be'
Jon - you have just earned my eternal fealty. Or fecal tea, if you prefer.
