Dissertation

I am trying desperately to track down the following books for my dissertation. I have managed to find them on Amazon but they are hugely expensive and way out of my price league. If anyone has any ideas I would be grateful to hear them.

Many thanks
A.

'The Annotated Wizard of Oz' by Michael Patrick Hearn

'Wizard of Oz By L.Frank Baum- American Culture and Society' by W. Leach

'Over The Rainbow. Wizard of Oz as a Secular Myth of America.' by Nathanson and Young.

Where's Bob Roberts?

Could do with a chin up...

Hope the freak famous grouse fuelled country house explosion headline had nothing to do with him.

The Carpenter by Chant

I like this little poem, find it charming. If it was for me I would delete the last line, ending it with "spine..."
evocative.... spine tingling?

Old People In Prison

So Sylvia Hardy (148), has been sent to prison for not paying her council tax. I'm worried for her. Before she was sentenced she said "The hardest thing for me in prison will be the food. I have a number of food allergies, so I will not be eating much for a week."

She's not wrong. I had to beg for gluten free toast when I was inside. Made the eighties in F wing a real challenge for me

World publishing markets

It is true to say that British publishers are more looking for character driven novels and that in America it is more plot driven ? Say you a have a novel that you think would be better suited to the American, Austarlian or even Asian markets. Would you just contact publishing houses in the country where you thought your writing would maybe sell best.

Well reviewed PoD novel by ABCtaler now available to conventional publisher

My political romantic comedy, "Saving the Word and Being Happy (The Computer Ager)" (ISBN 141371756x), which was first posted on ABCtales.com and complimented by several ABCtalers including Tony Cook, (http://www.abctales.com/node/26572) has now generated many good reviews and feature articles (http://hometown.aol.co.uk/Rericswan/reviews.html). I have also had several radio interviews.

STOP ALL THIS NOW!

IM ABSOLUTELY FED UP OF READING STUPID THREADS ON THIS WEBSITE, SO MUCH SO I WOULD APPRECIATE IF YOU READ THIS AND TAKE IT SERIOUSLY.

... I am very new here and so far I am shocked and appalled by the behaviour of people in here. We may have to rate our work, but some of what is written in discussions is just disgusting and should be rated too.
