Maxwell vs Machines - Lucas Brown

This is absolutley fantastic. Funny, fresh, original...from the end of the first paragraph I was hooked. The whole thing is wonderfully imaginative and brilliantly excecuted.

Just thought I'd point out a couple of things I noticed: 3rd paragraph, 3rd line, 'again' should be 'against', I think. And also, Starbucks is one word. Also this line:

'I'll hit you, damn it.' He threatened

Should be:

'I'll hit you, damn it,' he threatened.

God, I'm pedantic.

Eddie by Hilary West

Strong piece, Hilary, that immediately reminded me of the man and his daring motorcyle exploits. Checking I found that he ended with a different pair of wheels - sad!
However it seems that it's not all bad news...

Mark Brown : "Losing friends"

Your writting makes me want to sit down with a cup of coffee and twenty marlborough lights. It's like a warm blunket, like your other writting on this set 'Damaged Goods'. I have no idea why you're not published and please, please keep on writting!

The Short Story

http://www.theshortstory.org.uk

The website above has been set up in general to provide information / support and to promote the short story. It's an off shoot of last year's 'Save Our Short Story' campaign.

On the site you can read short stories, find info about different collections and there's also a competition, the top prize being £15,000. Not bad. The winner gets read out along with a number of runners up on Radio 4.

So enter.

It would be nice to see someone from ABCTales doing the business.

Mysterious79

Just read through these poems recently posted.

I wanted to comment on these because I experienced something that appears very similar.

I think whatever you feel about loss such as this, it takes tremendous courage to not only put your thoughts down on paper, but to show them to others. This courage should be commended.

A Sure Thing.

Made me smile, Spack :o)
Reminded me of Rimmer in Better Than Life... wonder what ever happened to the Red Dwarf film?

The Columbus Crocodile

Made me smile - such a pity that the secret of peanut butter died with the Queen and wasn't invented again until the 1880's - probably why the croc was so upset at her passing :o)
