Story and Poem of the Month

Our Story and Poem of the Month for April, very kindly chosen by Airyfairy

Thank you for a wonderful month of reading on ABCTales. It's been wonderful to see all the responses to the writing challenges, and please don't forget to get your name down for the latest one:

Once again the rich variety of the writing on the site has been a joy. The Bron series, by Ivan the OK-ish, continues to delight, and Episode 33 is our Story of the Month. Both gloriously absurd and entirely relatable, it's a funny, warm tale of human (and feline) enterprise and endeavour against considerable odds: Bron-33 | ABCtales
I also very much enjoyed Drew Gummerson's cautionary and very funny 'Joe - a dinosaur theme park story with hot dogs' Joe - a dinosaur theme park story with hotdogs. | ABCtales and SoulFire77's beautifully written 'The Less Miserables Lose a Friend' The Less Miserables Lose a Friend (1) | ABCtales

Poem of the Month is Angusfolklore's 'After You'd Gone'. It's a beautiful meditation on loss and grief that also manages to be very comforting, because it speaks of shared experience. I've read it a number of times now, and been captivated every time: After You'd Gone | ABCtales
I also loved Turlough's very funny and syllable-perfect pastiche 'What a Waist' What a Waist | ABCtales and jennifer's thoughtful and beautifully evocative 'Dandelions' Dandelions | ABCtales

Thank you once again to all our writers!
