Denver Riggleman with Hunter Walker (2022) The Breach: The Untold Story of the Investigation in January 6th.

Denver Riggleman and Hunter Walker take is as a given that their reading public know what Breach they’re referring to and what January 6th they refer. Like 9/11 it will be imprinted on our minds. But it isn’t. We’ve already moved on.
‘Stop the Steal’ didn’t work. Nobody much refers to it now. It’s no longer a shibboleth. Not even among Trump supporters.
Enough Americans voted for a dim-witted, rapist, thieving, draft-dodging, neo-Nazi, psychopathic narcissist for January 6th to become an irrelevance. Just one of those things that happened a long time ago like Al Gore and disputed chads. A stolen election. George Bush (jnr), a Republican President committed American larceny and invaded Afghanistan and Iraq in passing.
Trump stumbling over the truth. The Faustian deal may be revisited later, if he doesn’t start a world-war. Certainly there’ll be more to write about the current President than most others, including John F. Kennedy. If he hadn’t won the election there would have been a better than evens chance he’d be bankrupt or in prison, possibly both. In essence, The Breach, promised that those that didn’t support Trump would be suspect and imprisoned. That was (and remains) their great plan.
Biden wanted to present a United America. One of his many errors. He should have let former Republican Congressman like Denver Riggleman do their work. Name and shame those involved in the January 6th Insurrection. Trump should have been in jail for his role in it. He, of course, pardoned those ‘patriots’ involved, although, curiously, two of those refused his Presidential pardon.
Deny. Delay. Deny. Delay. Deny. Delay.
Justice just goes away, especially if Trump appointed conservative Supreme Court judges. Clarence Thomas, for example, his wife Ginni (named here) was so Trump haunted she believed every conspiracy theory from the dumbest of people on the dark web, especially when it was taken up to heaven and promoted on Rupert Murdoch’s Fox News.
Fox News is nominally a news channel. What Riggleman shows, we already know. Pseudoscience has some basis in reality. Fox News doesn’t even reach that baseline. It is an advertising platform. What they were selling was race hatred and Trump in an easy to believe package for viewers. Confirming what they already knew. Their world was full of demons out to get them. Only Trump could save them. He was a flawed figure but God appointed QAnon saviour.
What Riggleman shows is rock bottom isn’t the bottom. What we have seen is cult behaviour and the bended knee. Paying fealty to Trump is the name of the game. He has no policies other than race hate and scaremongering. Everything he touches turns to shit. Yet, he has what he always craves. Constant and unremitting attention. His every utterance taken as gospel. Nothing is verifiable in Trump land. Anything contested as ‘fake news’.
The best apparitions are the ones we make ourselves. Carl Sagan in The Demon Haunted World tells us how Ronald Reagan used to tell stories about how he’d spent the Second World War liberating concentration camps. Trump is more in favour of concentration camps that liberating them. Reagan’s war experience came from making films in Hollywood. The only uniform he put on was on set. Trump Make American Great Again comes from the Reagan playbook. Massive tax cuts which favour the very richest. The Evil Empire in the eighties was outside America, not inside, not growing like a cancer on the body politics and infecting the justice department and media.
Perhaps the sweet spot of The Breach is the posturing of each actor playing at saving America. Cash is king. A succour born every minute. Gaming attention by selling fear. The Christian nation can’t feed or house its poor, isn’t Christian. That’s socialism. They can’t provide free health care for the majority of its citizens. That’s socialism. They can’t provide the pathway to education or decent paying jobs for the majority of their population. That’s socialism.
I’m a socialist. I believe in taxing the rich. I also believe the richest 1% won the propaganda war and the alt-right or neo-Nazi movement is here to stay and will grow as concerns about global warming and the movements of millions of refugees shake the planet.
We may need to revisit The Breach later. Trump inviting his cult followers to ‘fight like hell’ may come into play when his Presidential term runs out. He’s already hinted, he’s willing to stay on for a third term. There is precedent. Franklin D. Roosevelt. The Great Depression. And a World War. Trump has already managed the first with most of us. No New Deal. Same old Trump. Read on.
