Real snow-yes more snow

Yesterday it snowed all day- the day before- that's Sunday we had a snowstorm. So everything is white and sloshy and brown and grey. The S-train net was down for a couple of hours-in peak hour-poor commuters. I haven't been outside for days- oh a short trip to the corner market. It's too slippery- I panic. I walk so slowly nowadays and with all the snow it's slower than snail's pace. I am not in a hurry.
Funny thing is when I get to the supermarket , stress comes upon me. I just want to get out again. Can't they do something about this-it seems as though everyone feels this way. I think they should have bands playing some great rock and roll, nice tasty morcels of food you can eat along the aisles, free samples of this and that, cheaper bargains, no rushing shop assistants- they always seem to be rushing to stack the shelves and going places all the time. And if you ask them something- where this and that is, you feel as though you are disturbing them and taking up their time. But that is why they are visible in the store. Mostly they have no idea where things are- it has to be somehting very easy-like milk- where's the milk? In the milk counter of course. I have never asked about milk but I did ask for a couple of low price things I had seen in the advert but it ended up I had to find them myself- well I asked but the shop assistant didn't know where the bargains were situated and just as we both were looking and searching I found them- so I think it helped that I asked.
The snow is all over the roads and paths and the minor roads never get cleared- it's always the major thoroughfares that get cleared. I have no use for them as I never drive a car but I can see that is of use to others. Meanwhile i wade through the snow masses. I have bought spikes for my boots and will don them tomorrow when I go out for a spell- just to the supermarket. I am not going for a walk in this weather.
The caretaker cleared our own small paths- there are a few with zimmer frames along the road and they need clear pathways. There is in particular one elderly woman- she must be around 80- she goes for a walk with her frame every day-albeit not in a snowstorm, I really admire her for it. But she is a bit of a busy body- always telling me what are the rules of the estate and how to pack my rubbish in and what I must not throw into the wheelie bin. I'm new here and her victim I suppose. She even told me she was on the board of residents so I wouldn't question her authority which I cheekily did anyway. I hate people telling me what to do-they can ask me if I could do it,please and then I will probably do it. Well I asked the caretaker in for a coffee. Nice young man with small kids. He was in twice last week.
I wish the snow would melt. I can't even fill the bird bath at the moment because it freezes over so quickly but I do fill the feeding tray with sunflower seeds and peanuts. And then in the course of the day I may lie on the sofa and watch the small birds feed and chase off the rooks of they get too greedy. I'm sure the smallbirds will find something to drink somewhere. i don't know what to do about the frozen birdbath. I'venever had my own garden before- well once when the kids were small but I didn't have a feeding tray and birdbath.
Melt snow, melt melt.
