Our Story and Poem for the month of October, very kindly chosen by Di_hard:
It has been wonderful to have so much great writing to brighten up encroaching nights. Thank you very much to everyone who has posted on ABCTales in October. This is a selection of work which I have really enjoyed - there are many more.
Poems :
I loved Turlough's gorgeous goodbye to Crete, the perfect antidote to our drizzly chill :

Jenny is another great one for lyrical diary entries, her poems are often personal, beautiful and highly imaginative. Best Wishes Jenny, for a smooth recovery from your operation, and hope to see your writing again very soon!

Caldwell has burst onto ABCTales with a rush of fine writing - poetry, prose and thoughtful comment. If you enjoy the energy in scinitllating rhyme, read this : https://www.abctales.com/story/caldwell/speed-dark-eclipse
Lenchenelf gives voice to some whose hurts are unnoticed : https://www.abctales.com/story/lenchenelf/you-picked-wrong-time-ask
It is as though Queen Beatle picks up words and polishes them and resets them in the stream of the possible, so they spark meaning in ways they have not, before. Here is a recent example, and it is Poem of the Month :

Stories :
If you are in the mood for a clever time-travelling adventure, I highly recommend the second part of Mitchell Jamal Franco's splendid new book :

I am so glad Purplehaze has increased the length of her Diary entries as they are excellent - fun, asking questions, brave and vulnerable all at the same time, and often containing stunning descriptions of the natural world - for example :

This Halloween piece by Marandina really is haunting - I have not been able to forget the lonely boy trapped in his bedroom :

Another unsettling story is this harrowing insight into a teenage girl's reasoning from Alexander Moore :https://www.abctales.com/story/alexander-moore/god-save-me
HarryC has been contributing three books of autobiography at once, and each part of each book has been impressive, written with such immediacy and truth that this reader felt she was there, too; for example here, as his grandmother describies meeting the love of her life. It is Story of the Month :

Thank you so much to all of you who have written on ABCTales for sharing your gifts. I hope everyone has an inspiration packed November with time to post more!
