Story and Poem of the Month

Story and Poem for the month of March very kindly selected by accidentallyexisting:

I've not much time for reading these days and tend to skim until I find something to catch my attention for more than a few seconds and two pieces did quite quickly. 

 
The story - which, caught me in the first line was a gritty, twisted tale. Both wry and sad at the same time, I wanted to keep reading long after it had ended on a rather dramatic cliffhanger. I do recommend that you read Celticman's Grimms49. Keep an eye out for further instalments.
 
 
The poem I chose was an observance of something superficially mundane but in reality made me think a lot about time and how we use it. Meditate on the thoughts of airyfairy and her poem "My Mother and I agree on Something" https://www.abctales.com/story/airyfairy/my-mother-and-i-agree-something
 
I very much enjoyed reading many of the stories and poems and the privilege of being able to select a favourite.
