Thank you.

Dear all,

Last night my account clicked over 100,000 reads. My writing mate, D, and I have some passionate discussions about "reads", "hits " and the near-obsession that can develop - checking from the confines of Trap 1 in the toilet at work to keep up with developments. D's got a point I suppose.

Maybe I'm comparing with a time when all my scribbles ended up going no further than a pile of old battered note books in a dusty pile under the bed.

This site has given me and many others a voice. Maybe one small one among many, but in terms of having an audience to write for, the difference it has made to my writing is clear to me.

I often wonder how many of those hits are real reads and how many are robots belonging to Google, Twitter, Facebook etc. Who knows?

The truth is that I am deeply grateful that even one person reads one item I have posted and even more so if that person seems to have gained some pleasure from it.

To me, on-line publishing is a realm of its own, not just a way to get noticed by publishing houses. It delivers an immediate link between writers and readers.

A long-winded way of saying thank you to everyone who has read my stuff and thank you to Tony, Luke, all the editors and everyone involved in keeping this community alive.

Thank you. X

yeh, I keep hitting the read, read, read button because the robot bot at (Google) keeps missing it. Nobody notices me, except me, but I know what you mean. Every writer needs at least one reader to complete the circuit.

At least we have one another celticman. :-D

B-) This is one of the worst things I've ever written. Tired, hung-over, heavy cold - a formula that usually works pretty well. Don't know what went wrong!

Well then, I must be in the same condition because I agree  with your every word so thanks from me too.

Moya.

Made my morning, Moya. All the "M"s.
