Happiness is a warm keyboard=I live to and love to write

The lights are up and the tree is decorated. The cozy feel of Christmas is settling around me…but it is not the shopping or the presents brightly wrapped that I’m thinking of… it’s family and friends and the kindness we can give to one another….the gathering at the table…the laughter as we reminisce… the smiles, the tears…and the comfort of their presence that moves me….and fills me with warmth.

Christmas has become too commercial but just because the stores and advertisers demand we buy their products… and ramp up their commercials raging at us ‘not to be the only one left without that new gadget’…we don’t have to believe their hype…We can take it down to normal...if we try…if we choose to.

Christmas is not about the gifts we get…it never was…that was a grand department store campaign created decades ago to fill up their coffers before the end of the year….but it was never the true meaning of anything…and has nothing to do with this holiday.

Santa is a by product of those tinseled department store come on's…nice and jolly…and Moore's whimsical good hearted story didn't hurt the buying campaign either....and if Santa is bringing gifts to all children from the goodness of his heart then of course he’s a good old sprit too…but only Christ is Christmas…and it is his birth in a manger we are remembering on that day.

Comfort and love, joy and glad tidings these are the gifts we should wrap up and offer...no shiny paper required...and give to each other with open hearts…these gifts are highly returnable too...and the return is most accepted.

And so…in the spirit of true Christmas...

I wish you all the warmth of family and friends gathered around you, the comfort of a hug and the happiness of a smile and of course... the very merriest and warmest Christmas ever!

Thanks for listening…smiley
