Happiness is a warm keyboard=I live to and love to write

Adversity…a road to maturity…or to detachment…Love…to believe in forever…or pine for unrequitedly…Which way will the story bend…

When we pull emotions forward to create we use so much of who we are…good moments and difficult times help us breathe life into a story. We use pain and sorrow in Drama…tender moments in Romance…silly times in Comedy and a marvelously free imagination in Science Fiction and Fantasy.

We are…to some extent… what we write…not necessarily the character we create… but we have instilled opinions of our own- or of those who’ve influenced us - into the work. Added in some idiosyncrasies of friends or acquaintances and crafted a believable though fictional entity…born and sent into the world we populate with our words.

Writers drink in the world and spin it into spectacular stories…tales to be told.

There are so many venues and genres to inhabit…Mystery, Suspense, Drama, Science Fiction, Fantasy, Romance…The category matters not…as long as your heart is in the story…creating what you know in new and tantalizing ways…with settings and dialogue to intrigue and engage.

It is almost a form of analysis as we gather and hunt for the perfect feeling or expression deep inside our psyche…it is healing and comforting to put them onto that blizzard white document and read the finished text… with a smile and a contented sigh…and perhaps a glass of wine.

Toasting all authors tonight...published…unpublished…seasoned or beginner in their pursuit of happy endings.
