For The Life of Me

For My Angels, all of them.

For the first time, her wings opened...she held her breath in fear of the flight...no one there to encourage her take off...no one to say she'd be alright...closing her eyes and then wide open...she lifted her wings and the sky gave her flight...more deep breaths slowly in and out...giving in to the comfort of her wings...knowing now her fear she had conquered...accepting the clouds as her new friends...looking in on those who's tears tore at her...breezing a kiss on the nape of their necks...whispering loudly to help them hear her...gently touching their skin to raise fallen heads...looking into their eyes for the last time now...hearing prayers and remembering them...caressing their souls never allowing complete separation and knowing someday they will meet again.

*Here is it, black and white...so to speak, explanation of the poem.* I felt myself falling into a place some go, when fading from this world to the next. I was afraid to go...didn't know where I'd go or what to do, who to hold on to, or what to expect.
