Soul Driver is a collection of tales peeking into the lives of some marginal characters wandering through time and space on the edge-lands of Liverpool's counter-culture.

All the stories are narrated by Skin who is hard up, had enough and perilously close to the edge - an egomaniac who's finding it difficult to take his own ego seriously anymore. Skin, an actor, is rarely employed, but has managed to get himself involved in a play about the 18th century Atlantic slave trade - a surreal melodrama that. Voodoo Theatre or half-baked pantomime - it could go either way.

The play at least helps takes his mind off the knife in his gut that is twenty-three year old art photographer, eroticist & control freak, Justine Ice. It’s a refuge as well from dealers he owes money to, sanctimonious ex-bikers with babies and, especially, from his friend Sam, a self-styled magus - a ghost haunted by ghosts who relies on the occasional psychotic episode to reassure himself that he’s still alive.

Soul Driver is a serious black comedy that digs into the dark heart of old Liverpool and finds it spiked with heavy shots of African magic, urban myth & psycho blues.
