Song game
Name the song this lyric is from, then set your own poser.
Everyone suffers in silence a burden
The man who drives minicabs down in old compton
The asian man
With his love hate affair
With his racist clientele
Sorry i haven't started many dull threads lately, so i thought i better get my act together.I will try and come up with some more at work today.
:-0)
'Woodwork squeaks and out come the creeps, oh yeah....'
(Ok, I admit, I don't know what the answer is, it's just been bugging me ever since I taped it off the radio, back in the days when I was a teenager, in my room, taping stuff of the radio...)

Lou, we must be around the same age. I used to tape songs by a group called Quarterflash off the radio onto my boom-box...:-D
Ah - I think I may be a little older than you, AG. My tape recorder was very definately pre-boom box. More crappy-sounding shoe-box.

hahaha! (I'm 35). You should've seen my 'boom box'! Silver and black, rectangular, big carrying handle, large round knobs on the top, a knob-dial to change radio stations; the truly state-of-the-art part of it was that it had 'dual cassette' function. I got it for a gift in 1982. I was well chuffed with it. Ahh, yes, memories...
*smiles fondly*
Was (Not Was): Out Come the Freaks (1981).
Well you WOULD know that one.
I googled that, I thought that it was 'Too Many Creeps' by Bush Tetras.
New York '81, right time and place - wrong band!
How about:
"They're piling in the back seat
They're generating steam heat
Pulsating to the back beat"?
Blimey eleven replies so far.
Hox i bet you emailed Liana for that answer you cheat.
i used to tape Happy Days on my cassette player ... i so loved the Fonz ...
Blitzkrieg Bop by The Ramones.
There was a wonderful video set at Arnolds on the Windows 95/98 CD.
What was the name of the song that Fonzie danced to - with that wonderful 'warm' valve amp sound.
Darn. Thanks Smiley re Out Come the Freaks - just listened to an extract on Napster. It's the right song but unfortunately it's not the version I had - mine was much slower, just one bloke singing. Shall keep looking now though.

Good luck then, Lou.
The boy with the Arab strap.
Next:
Tantum ergo Sacramentum
Veneremur cernui:
Et antiquum documentum
Novo cedat ritui:
Praestet fides supplementum
Sensuum defectui.

Vado Via?
Christ, if the lyrics weren't -quite- so abstract, I'd give it a go. Not all of us are music aficiondos, Flash!
Hox's Tantum Ergo is an old favourite of the Roman Catholics but I was waiting for Jude to post since I know she's a fan of Thomas Aquinas.
Are you OK, j?
