Hoooooooray

Yesterday I got a letter from our congregation prioress formally accepting my request into candidacy...couple of interviews and a few months before my novitiate but I am one step further on the road to becoming a Dominican Sister.

If I didn't have a kidney infection, i'd do cartwheels I'm so happy.

This is my message to the big JC and St Dominic

THANK YOU

You put the boom-boom into my heart
You send my soul sky high when your lovin' starts
Jitterbug into my brain
Goes a bang-bang-bang 'til my feet do the same
But something's bugging you
Something ain't right
My best friend told me what you did last night
Left me sleepin' in my bed
I was dreaming, but I should have been with you instead

...

You take the grey skies out of my way
You make the sun shine brighter than Doris Day
Turned a bright spark into a flame
My beats per minute never been the same

I will use my small personal allowance to buy contact lenses and my glasses are small, delicate half rimmed things... big round specs, hairy legs, bad breath and bucked teeth are all no go areas!

Although I'd assume George Michael is Greek Orthodox rather than Roman Catholic. One of the most tragic divisions within Christianity is the one between the Catholic Church and the Orthodox churches. Both have valid holy orders and apostolic succession through the episcopacy, both celebrate the same sacraments, both believe almost exactly the same theology, and both proclaim the same faith in Christ. It developed slowly for several reasons but Since the Eastern schism began, the Orthodox have generally claimed that the pope has only a primacy of honor among the bishops of the world, not a primacy of authority. But the concept of a primacy of honor without a corresponding authority cannot be derived from the Bible. At every juncture where Jesus speaks of Peter’s relation to the other apostles, he emphasizes Peter’s special mission to them and not simply his place of honor among them. DUMB

Of course, Jesus wouldn't have minded the hairy legs, jude. They're a modern concern...

It certainly is, Jude. Everybody knows that the primacy of both honour and authority have been invested in a man called Kevin who lives in Levenshulme, speaks in tongues at every opportunity and hands out leaflets with the number "666" in red ink to startled shoppers outside Morrison's. But the Orthodox have better beards.
