*Bush Doesn't Believe Iraq Is in Civil War
By Associated Press

WASHINGTON - President Bush says he doesn't believe Iraq is in a civil war. He says he sees "more tough fighting ahead" in Iraq, but says progress is being made. Confronting doubts about his strategy, Bush sought to build up support by taking his case directly to the nation on Tuesday.

"The Iraqis had a chance to fall apart and they didn't," he said at a news conference.

Bush also said he is encouraged by the strength of the U.S. economy and that he will work with Congress on the issues of tax cuts, curbs in federal spending and the deficit.*

I have a theory that Iraq is America's new Vietnam...

A hopeless situation in which our illustrious president has got us all still inveigled 14 years later.

Comments?

Doesn't Iran launch its Euros for oil policy this month? Oops!

"Bush also said he is encouraged by the strength of the U.S. economy and that he will work with Congress on the issues of tax cuts, curbs in federal spending and the deficit.*" Yes, curbs on federal spending, but not on military! Tax cuts with a how-many-billion-dollar deficit? Bush? Don't get me started on that man...
