Words'n'stuff

I have been accused (amongst other things) of having a "teenage personality¦ like, that's a bad thing? The truth is, being a *writer*, I'm fascinated by language. I'm fascinated by how teenagers communicate with each each, I'm fascinated by how Mancunians in their 70's communicate with each other, I'm fascinated by how women in their 30's and 40's in offices communicate with each other¦ I'm fascinated by how language evolves, corrupts, re-forms, how the meanings of particular words change from generation to generation, how technology (e.g. mobile phones) creates its own language, such that 1 can spk 2 sum1 else Xchanging numbers 4 lttrs + so on + B understood. I don't think this is laziness, I think it's the natural evolution. Language has always been in constant flux. The evolution of language is a fascinating, joyous thing, & if NE1 says otherwise, I show U the palm of my hand & say¦
