In keeping with the recently established tradition of organising ABC piss-ups that turn out to be poorly attended, I have approached attendees of the 'Moon under water' set and have decided to stick my neck out (or I would if I had one), and propose a pre-Christmas soiree.

There seems to be general agreement so far to meet at 'The Enterprise' on the edge of Camden town (It's directly across the road from Chalk Farm tube station) on Saturday 15th December. A time hasn't been agreed on as yet but it seems sensible to make it around lunchtime, a definite time will be agreed and announced later.

The last meeting was enjoyable for those attending but was notable for the lack of females of any kind! Perhaps some of the 'lady writers' would care to redress the balance this time out. We would be respectful unless requested to revert to type.

I look forward to enthusiasm and/or derision with bated hooks!

But will we have the answers Linsi? I'd be careful if I were you Tom, she may just be pregnant! Not that I know of course, I've never met the lady but it's a possibility that might make your request not only a world first but also highly undesirable!

Well it was an answer to Liana's *groan* back up the thread, Missi. It's very disconcerting the way you reply to someone and it just goes on the end. Results in a certain amount of weirdness - which is fine by me. I used to go to Chalk Farm a lot in the old days. All day concerts at the Roundhouse. Not in London any more, unfortunately.

Keep us informed about the 15th Mississippi. My wife assures me we'll be doing last minute Christmas shopping, but I may be able to swing it, if only for an hour or two. Come to think of it, what better place to shop for unusual gifts than Camden Lock.

I should imagine that anybody that trusts abcdogs...... is making a serious error of judgement and I assume that he/she wouldn't be coming anyway in case they have to over-reach themselves in civilised behaviour. Karl, everyone I've discussed it with so far is happy about the 15th so it looks pretty definite at the moment. It would be great to meet a few more 'faces' to match up with the writing and discussions.

I am in Camden on most Saturdays at noon anyway, so this is ideal for me. I've always been a bit curious about Chalk Farm, now that you mention it. This question ties into the chemistry thread as well: is it necessary to cultivate chalk in England? I've noticed a number of people cultivating cheek, but so far no chalk. There is certainly no shortage of chalk in the water supply, as my coffee maker and steam iron will verify, nor for that matter is there any shortage of cheek on the streets, but maybe I should leave that one for a new thread.

Ice cream shops were never at the top of my agenda when in that area Wolfie so I wasn't particularly aware of it, but my favourite bookshop in Camden High Street, 'Compendium', shut about a year ago, now I have to go to Denmark St.

By the way, it's definitely on for the 15th. about 1.00pm seems to be reasonable, if anyone has problems with that please post and we'll change it to suit. It won't be hard to find/avoid me, I'll be the sad bastard sitting in the corner by the fire crying in my beer!

the moon under water set have recently met - with many females in attendance - in camden town according to their message board (a rival site - boo hiss - that I pop into but do not participate) and had great fun by all accounts. camden off the beaten track for me mississippi and so is the 15th of Dec. I have a party to attend that night. have fun anyway.
