I write for fun but my real passion is reading and I enjoyed reading this very much.

What a beginning! That's a heck of a beginning. One of the best ones I've ever read. That part about the world being the most mine at night because no one else wants it. That was great. As for the rest of the story, I got nothing out of it, to be honest. It was a bore. But I have to compliment you for that beginning. That could have been the beginning of some classic short story.
