Diary Addiction

i am still utterly addicted to the abc diaries ... very happy too that liana has bullied chant into doing his again ...

not sure what it is about them which makes them so compelling ... so if you arent doing one ... please do one ... last night i was trying to cajole melfish into doing one and she protested that nothing happens to her ... but was talking to robert about it last weekend and we agreed that the mundane ones are the best ...

is it that they are so revealing about the writer???

so get diarising ... i need to feed my addiction ...

I find it very useful to keep a diary. It makes me write each day. :)

Fish , you like mundane? that's encouraging. mundane is the thought which puts me off writing a diary some days. Almost makes me long for crises .........

thanks fish. I love all the diaries. freda and her woolly underwear; liana and her escapades and shopping trips; Your own with red doors and large teenagers; hox and his lesbians; martin and his stomach; iceman and his cat feeding; robert and whatever it was he did in his sole effort to date ... kitchens or shopping for cakes probably?; i used to await stuartswr's eagerly when he was writing; bobblehat and his poetry life; don and his reading habits. oh, and chant sublimely describing the boredom of his office and his comments about abclife. Incidentally, I have been following Tom Saunders' journal over at UKAuthors. has anyone else? if not, I highly recommend you do. Great stuff!

oh i am still in diary heaven ... eddie now too .... and had a look at tom's journal on UKA ... its amazing the insights you can get into someone through their diary ... was talking to robert last night about how the tone of some of the diaries is similar ... that they are lighthearted ... aimed at entertaining ... and i was really glad to see freda back ... was a bit worried about her disappearance from diarising ... i find it hard to write poems when i am happy (stevie smith said "why does the muse only visit us when we are sorrowing")... the diary helps to feel i am writing something whilst i avoid finishing the kids book ... keep 'em coming ... i love them...

i am a bit of a @!#$ - i can always give good advice to others about writing i.e. nothing is too everyday, just let it flow, & honesty etc, but I have really seized up the last few weeks. Unless I've missed it I am amazed that no-one has done a really miserable whingeing diary yet, like a dragged out 'bell-jar' journal, covering every possible aspect of depression. Maybe the wrong time of year .........

i am seeking treatment for my addiction ... reading iceman's diary has become for me like looking at a car wreck on the motorway ... horrifying but i cant look away ... if i was his wife and i read it i would kill him ...

"I think our finance department is full of mundane people, is that where they all go ? I hate calling them as they seem to suck all life out of you in the course of the conversation." absolutely. loved the coping strategy for that cheeky invoice too. man after my own heart. gave me much pleasure to read this diary entry. http://www.abctales.com/abcplex/viewstory.cgi?s=25616

I read one of my earlier diary entries this morning as todays little effort was a bit shorter than usual. I think the more honest you are the funnier it can be.
