Frome Festival short story competition 2012

This is a really good competition to enter. 1000 to 2000 words.

Thank you, blighters, that's my local literary festival! I shall enter! I actually used to work in Frome's only independent bookshop, Hunting Raven Books! If you're ever in Frome - it's a fabulous place! J x

Hi Jennifer, So good to hear you have a publcation date, he says with a resentfully upturned top-lip. I'm going to try and make the Frome Festival this year. Alison Clink (the organiser there) sent my 'I Can't Believe It's Not Butter' entry to Womans Weekly, which shows real dedication and decency. That sort of thought goes a long way with people and I'll be doing my best to come. Sounds like a really good festy. All the best Richard

Hi Richard! Hopefully you will have one too soon! I know I'm very lucky and extremely grateful for the chance I have been given! Let me know what events you're heading for - I've not had a proper look at the programme yet but it's usually packed with stuff during the weekdays that I want to go to but can't because I'm at work! That's really lovely of her! Yes, very decent! J x

I can't fault your amazing enthusiasm, Jennifer, and wish I could take a small portion of it. In the meantime, I can shamelessly ask for your support on my self-published gem of a children's book, 'Of Course You Can Meet The Queen!' Tony's been kind enough to put a link on the Abc homepage. I'm getting great feedback from people. I wish I knew which festies I'm going to because I haven't been to one for ages, but I'm trying to sliver my way into reading the book at storytelling festivals and will be doing the same with family-oriented festies. Frome sounds too good to miss out on so I'll definitely go to that one. How's Frome pronounced? I think someone said it was 'Froom'. All the best Richard
