Beyond Bersheeba by poetjude
After hearing that Jezebel had promised to kill him - for slaying the prophets - Elijah ran off and hid a day's journey beyond Beersheba.
Sitting under a Juniper tree he cried "It is enough; now, O LORD, take my life, for I am not better than my fathers."
He fell asleep and was awakened by an eagle's touch and the words "Arise, eat."
Elijah found fresh baked elven waybread and a jar of water.
He ate and drank and fell asleep once more.
Again the eagle touched him saying "Arise, eat" and added "because the journey is too much for you."
Elijah ate and drank again and this time, strengthened, he set off for Horeb, the mountain of God. It is said that the two meals sustained him thoughout the forty day journey. http://www.abctales.com/story/poetjude/beyond-bersheeba
