Reflections
What a strange year this has been for me. ABC and I started out as strangers, but since the advent of the discussion boards I feel I have become part of a family, with all it's attendant intricacies. Some of you have endeared yourselves to me and become friends, and maybe some of you feel the same way about me. Obviously no one is universally popular, and I have my detractors the same as the rest of you, but at this point in time I wish to wallow in the notion that the pleasure I have experienced from being here far outweighs any negativity that has blown through my open window. For better or worse it is my intention in the new year to write some new stuff, partly so Andrew will stop reminding me that I am not a writer. As it happens I have already written some new stuff and posted it under a different name, and believe it or not I was even awarded a fabled cherry by none other than Andrew himself!
One of the things I have enjoyed most this year is meeting some of you in person, and I have come to realise that practically no one is as we expect. Those that confounded me most were in no particular order, Ralph, AJ, Martin, Justyn, Alison, Tony C and Karl. Roy and Simon were not far from my imagination. Alison in particular was a million miles from my pre-conceived image!
I have a clandestine meeting with another 'famous' name early in the new year, and I'm looking forward to it with happy anticipation.
What next year holds in store I can't begin to imagine, but if ABC shines in my darkness the way it has this year then I will have a beacon to light my way into the sunshine.
Thanks everybody for making my journey so far a magical trip.
