A little bit of history, repeating by Juliet OC

I really liked this a lot - very evocative and warm description of how a "spirit" remains in a home when the inhabitants have left. It reminds me of a couple of things -the "Smile Like You Mean It" video of the song by the Killers and an insurance advert where an elderly lady is gazing wistfully at young lovers enjoying a cruise - then her husband turns up, he's only been to the bar. Not a novel theme therefore but it's very well handled and full of significant detail.

Only slight quibble I have is an overuse of metaphor - there was a "saucepan of", "a coffee table of" and one or two others all in a short section. But that doesn't detract too much from a moving piece of writing.
