Any tips on how to get published?

Hi, I would like to know if anyone knows of any good publishing hpuses who are actually willing to read your work???? As I have heard that many are useless an some don't bother reading your work??? I'm not sure how you go about it all, but I am keen to know as I am determined to get somewhere with my work...so does anyone have any ideas ho i can go about this!?

Hi Leanne. As I understand it, you'd be better looking for a literary agent rather than a publishing house. You'll be in a much stronger position if you get an agent to fight your corner for you, and most publishers will only deal with agents. Unfortunately, there's no "easy" route to writing sucess; just hard work and self-publicity. I find that's always been my downfall - I'm too lazy (so I don't write enough) and too meek (so I don't push my writing as much as I should). Don't get disheartened by rejection - just get used to it, and carry on regardless. Move on to the next agent/publisher. Develop a thick skin and you'll go far!
