yes, but it's not utopia, WE can do this. and the only war that would have then to take place is our esoteric battle. you see, what we succeeded so far is not enough. we all managed to lead average good lifes and managed to confront some of our bad habits and obscure inclinations. but there is more work to be done, we have to understand that the peace we have within between our bad self and our good one, is fake, is a substitute granted by the bad side so as the good side won't take notice that it's still there, consuming our cosmic energy that we use to exist as benignant creatures. We have to make war with our selves and exterminate the one and only real enemy. because the most atrocious, cruel, inhumane, soulless beast is the dark evil part hiding inside of us. and which is the most hard done by and injured PERSON if not our angelic self? Now should we make peace or war?

Sky, have you read Aldous Huxley's 'Island'?. Like all utopian novels, it attempts to portray an 'ideal' society. It is the most convincing one of this genre...give it a go.

But if this war won't take place, this war against evilness of our own egos then , step by step there must be progress towards the International Peace, and then Democracy could apply on all. Just because it seems difficult it doesn't mean it's impossible.

<-- We have to make war with our selves and exterminate the one and only real enemy. because the most atrocious, cruel, inhumane, soulless beast is the dark evil part hiding inside of us. --> I don't see the darkside in our souls as something to be destroyed Sky. To progress you have to learn to work with it, not make a pointless war. You will never win, just end up becoming screwed up. Have you ever wondered why that part is so hostile? Think about it - your always waging war against it, rejecting it, despising it, it's bound to become hostile under that kind of treatment. You are in effect turning yourself against yourself. An irrational war that only ends up in our whole psyche collapsing from the pressure. Instead of making war, you need to work with it, accept it, integrate it into yourself. Those things you call beasts are just immature parts to ourselves that have never been given much respect or love. They're deprived - like lonely neglected children, told that their bad, disliked etc. Kept in the closet of our unconscious to brood. They stay there in the shadows of our psyche and in time - they rebel. That's when we have our irrational moments of rage or self-destructive behaviour. When we seem to lose control, go crazy. What you have to remember is: these parts to ourselves aren'y really good or bad or anything, they're just energies. Only we have given those energies names - using our alchemy of words. If you look closely at the character of Jesus. You will see that he is a marriage of good and evil. An example of what happens when good and evil becomes unified in a person. All the demons obeyed him if you remember, as much as the angels. He had complete command over good and evil. Trieing to kill the darkside in yourself is just suicide and you will be trieing to do it till the end of time. Work with it, accept it, become whole - balanced; if you do this you will be powerful and strong. What the lightside lacks, the darkside supplies, and what the darkside lacks the lightside supplies, and there you have the yin/yang. But by all means go on fighting it, what do I know anyway. The fight is just words and labels, naming a thing gives us a certain amount of control over it, words are cages that contain the bird, but the bird is not the cage, and sometimes the bird escapes the cage. Those energies you call beasts will always be a part of ourselves whether we like it or not. The way forward is to learn how to develop them, include them, not exclude them. So that what starts off as a wild beast, becomes a tame friend, that eventually becomes you, like the zen ox pictures. you can have a look at the zen ox pictures if you copy and paste these links into your address bar: http://www.iijnet.or.jp/iriz/irizhtml/zenart/10ox.htm http://www.zen-mtn.org/zmm/gallery3.htm http://www.iijnet.or.jp/iriz/irizhtml/zenart/artindex.htm The ox symbolises the wild untamed part to ourselves, that eventually becomes tame and then dissapears and becomes you, no longer a seperate entity. Then when this happens, you know Satori and become a master of yourself, and in mastering yourself, you master everything.

Hi funky! I won't interact with any form of evilness. I want to live not to die. Life is not cooperating with death, that's why Jesus Christ resurrected else He would have not become a human being for our shake. Death is the avid black hole that consumes everything. Death is beaten, death's sting is inoccuous for all human beings and so is evil, that opened this repulsive gap of non-existence in the continuity of perpetual living. ;o)

I don't want to tame anything I don't want any tamed wild animals in my yard, no thanks. Think about the zoos that keep wild animals, every now and then they become intractable and kill some guards or some visitors. I don't want cages in my soul, nor any kind of power over anything. If you have the love of God, then you have everything. Look, the Garden of our Entity is the most precious place in the world, Our Soul is what truly belongs to us. We must never give in to others, never leave free space for evil.

the "doctors" are the priests (of all religions not only in christianity) they are those that manipulate Truth and Faith and Divine Revelation. BUT they cannot manipulate LOVE because LOVE is stronger than everything. That's why we have to love each other, this is the "MACHINE" that HE gave to us, and the utmost act of love is self sacrifice. :o))))))))))))))))

There is no such thing as evil, only the word we use to label it. There is only energy. But without that word, what is it? We give energy names, and call it things. Good, evil, love, hate. But what is it really? life cooperates with death all the time Skydolphin. a Yew tree is constantly dieing and living. The flowers die in the winter and come alive again in the Spring. My body cells are dieing all the time and regenerating. Death is God's gift to us. It would be horrible if we were to live for ever, unbearable.

Unhappiness makes you say these words dear funky, I am unhappy too and most of the people are also unhappy. How can you say that living forever is unbearable and disregard the gift of life that is a gift of love and happiness beyond space and time? How can you know what real happiness is so that you would appreciate a perpetual living? I hope my faith will lead me to love, in love's embrace I am with God, and when I'm there I don't want to be anywhere. times stops, I move on. Holding in entity the gift of God. this is my humble words that i use to describe you what cannot be described. ;o) smile funky, we are happy and we don't know it.

a correction concerning my previous message: when we are in God's embrace we don't want to be anywhere else, because there is nothing else but God, unreality is over. Our trip through the torturous earthly life which we inflicted upon ourselves by trying to find knowledge and power away from God, has ended and then begins our Real Life as Human Gods :o)

sounds like you'd steer dangerously close to a programme of eugenics to establish the Platonic aristocracy, Sky. the means of training laid out by Plato in the Republic has, in my opinion, been most systematically explored and discredited in Huxley's Brave New World. liked your Yin and Yang stuff, Funky - arguments i hadn't heard before. am fearful though, along with Sky, that the desire for power over the self, and consequently the world (if i am my world), isn't just another manifestation of the ego. disagree that Christ driving out demons represented his mastery of his evil nature, but found the idea very interesting nonetheless. he does say, after all, no house which is divided against itself can stand, and by doing so, clearly suggests that his authority over demons does not spring from any demonic authority. have no idea what "being in God's embrace" means. if He is omni-present, then we are all in God's embrace, i suppose, and what terrible things he has done, and does, to us.

I'am not unhappy either.. Yeah man I don't know where that one came from chant and sky. It was late at night and I was a bit out of it.. it seemed to make sense at the time. Still think living forever would be unbearable though skydolphin, at some point much much later on when I've had enough and I'am an old man.. I would very much like it if things just switched off - permenantly. But I don't say this because I am unhappy, I say this cause I am sane. Can you imagine being stuck on this earth in a mortal frame for the whole of eternity with no escape? No God can be that cruel surely..

I like funkys postings too.. Achieving a state of balance means that you tend to make the better decisions when presented with new facts.. most of the time. There is no such thing as perfection.. there are no answers that are appropriate for all time only for those in the moment.. clearly the universe and all within it, society and culture included, is constantly evolving.. So choices that seeem to lead to more choices are in.. choices that seem to lead to cul de sacs are out.. Back to sky's original question.. idealogies out.. and leadership (personalities) is in.. and the ability to discard them when we disagree more than we agree with them.. call it democracy if you will. Dictators would be fine if we could get rid of them.. e.g. By pressing a 'Die Now' button on an internet browser.. ..Just had an idea for a political system.. one where the person in power has carte blanche to make any decision he likes.. but the populace has the final say when they get rid of him.. and getting rid of him in this case means death.. and the means of his disposal available easily and immediately eg through the internet.. now then I bet we would have some fine creative leadership with this sort of incentive..

ok, I am unhappy. I won't take my words back. I am not happy because innocent people suffer and guilty ones don't find a way out of their guilt. I am unhappy so I hope for a better world. As for chant's sayings I don't want to establish a group of aristocratic people neither does Platonic Philosophy maintain such a thing! I just don't want those that are selfinterested and biased to rule the world and make the rest of us suffer. I don't want multinational - international companies, mafia, drug dealers, corrupted politicians and unscrupulous bankers to continue manipulating the populace and destroy our planet! I am a true democrat because I want democracy to finally rule the world. Since this cannot be started simultaneously in all nations, since these aristocrats don't exist, at least each person must take into consideration the benefit of confronting truth, and not stay passive in this materialistic world as if the world exists in the form of a new car, a credit card and Big Brother's episodes.

Yeah, I was thinking this sounded a lot like Plato's Republic. Unfortunately, Plato was an admirer of Sparta, not Athens, which is what got him run out of Dodge, if memory serves. There a very interesting book about Socrates (I forget the exact title) by I.F. Stone. This guy was an American journalist who for many years would piece together information from the public record (mostly the Congressional Journal) and publish his conclusion in his newletters. The CIA were constantly on his case during the Viet Nam war, thinking he had an inside source. In fact, he was simply drawing conclusions from information readily available to anyone. Made the CIA look stupid (not all that hard really). Anyway, he applied the same techniques to Socrates and concluded that Socrates was not this great lover of freedom and democracy. In fact, he was what in today's terms we might call a right wing buffoon with an admittedly quick wit. I think this book was published in the late 1980's. It was a great read, though I'm not sure of his scholarship.

putting to one side the question of to what extent the Republic was the result of Socrates' imagination, and to what extent that of Plato (but from the feel of it, it's more Plato than Socrates), i don't think that either Socrates or Plato can be accurately characterised as "right wing buffoons". Socrates' main point was that if we see a doctor with regard to our health, ie an expert, with specialist knowledge, why do we allow non-experts, ie the people to make our political judgements for us? his view was particularly influenced by the fact that 'the people' were easily swayed by popular demagogues, expert rhetoricians who often had their own, rather than Athens' best interests at heart. Plato was also keen to undermine any statements he himself made in his work, and should never be taken too literally. thus, in the Phaedrus, after a long explanation about the nature of the soul, he suggests that what has been said is merely "paidias karin" (for the sake of fun). ideas are produced in order to be discussed - the disputation (elegke) is the important thing. above all, people must be trained to think things through for themselves. so I.F.Stone is out, as far as i'm concerned!
