Finding youself!

Okay. Read 'youRself' :-(

It's quite good fun to make up a name and try to imagine what kind of stuff somebody with that username would write, then feed it into the search engine and nine times out of ten the name does exist or brings up something very similar and you can test your theory. Do you think I should try to get out more?

I know, the search engine on this site seems to be very selective about which days it works on and for how long, sometimes it doesn't even work on usernames! Very irritating. I keep trying to find authors that have been recommended by other members, and getting no result. :( -Penmagic

I've just tried to find myself, and have no problems searching under my username desk_clerk, but on my real name, it says I'm not there! This is horrifying! My worst nightmare come true! I'm no longer a name, just an internet handle! Ahh!

I understand that in the 1960s large numbers of disilusioned drop-outs from the British and American education systems embarked on journeys to places like India and Tibet with the express intention of "finding themselves" (I'm much too young to remember it myself of course). I wonder if they might have been on to something. Could it be that the Far East is where large numbers of us in fact are? Is this why we experience feelings of unreality and absence? Is this why India is so crowded? Whose round is it by the way?
