Liable and slander

I am a volunteer and have been, in the last four years involved in the Council tenants movement as a Federation Chair. I have been involved in taking my case to the local housing Ombudsman. In the firts instance I have been told by the Ombudsmans Office that I have a case for slander against the cxouncil. I am taking legal advice in the near future an would like to hear from any one who has ever had a jugement in their favourmade by the local ombudsmans offife without going to legal. The local ombudsmans decision always seems to favour Local Authorities. Advice soon please

Do you mean they have made a slander against you (ie, they have said something injurious to your reputation in a public arena). Or have they written it? in which case it might be libel - but I think only if several other parties would have seen it. I'm not sure the individual has much chance in this against a public body unless something they've said about you has or is really likely to damage you or your reputation.
