I have a book out by bookbooters.com at the moment. Unfortunately they have a pretty hefty backlog to work through at the moment, so it could be months before you find out if your book has been accepted by them.

There's a POD (Print on Demand) printer in London now handling the work for iUniverse and most of the other POD publishers. HERE<.a> is their web site. They also advertise that they can print for individuals. You would need to organize the ISBN number and any copyright yourself, of course. You can get a self-published book on to Amazon UK under a scheme called "Amazon Advantage" (or something similar). I haven't tried it but I suspect the biggest problem with printing your own book would be distribution. The big chains won't take stuff from small publishing houses or individuals in most cases.
