March 31, 2013 Update on Richard's Sister Susan

EMAIL FROM OLDEST SISTER BONITA:

We must keep Susan in our prayers!

The week before Last week, they went in, to the scene of the crime, to clean & disinfect, twice & then this past Monday, they patched the stump & sealed it.

WELL! Patsy began her nightly routine, of sharing the details of her visit... & on that Mon night, she began with, "Don't ever underestimate our Baby Sister, Susan"!

THEY HAD HER STANDING UP!

Not walking, or anything dramatic, but standing! Susan pointed to a achair, a few feet away & then changed her mind, she was too pooped!!

That was a HIGH!!

Last night was a different story!

Just by Patsy's hesitating, I knew something was up! Now, it's her kidneys!!!

Her feet are swollen & tests show that her kidneys are affected from the strong medication that they have been giving Susan from day ONE!!

The Nurses even told Patsy, that DIALYSIS, for a little while, may be a possibility if things don't change!!

Needless to say, we are worried!

Love,

Bonita

Poor Susan and her suffering and all of you around her and your worry. Let's hope she'll be better soon.
Just keep her will going.

Thank you, PT and Highhat. It is quite an incredible journey for everyone, and of course, especially Susan. Your concerns and prayers are so appreciated. I think of my sore toe which is nothing to whine about, and count my blessings. Hugs to all from Dick and Esther.

Keep the faith Richard, you are all in our thoughts and prayers. Moya

Thank you for your precious comment, Moya. Susan has just begun to sit up and speak in halting words. It appears the surgeon has saved her voice box. Her powerful drugs are affecting her kidneys, and they are monitoring them very much. Keep the prayers coming and thanks again. Richard and Esther

I am so happy to hear that the surgeon has managed to save her voice box and of course the kidneys are a worry but the powerful drugs are it seems doing their work at keeping her alive. Small steps but all in the right direction. Moya

Hello Moya---such a beautiful name. I thank you again and again to you and many others for your concerns. I also now have a lovely picture of Susan sitting up in bed, with a beautiful smile on her face, and of course the attachments to her, one being a large tube for her to swallow, since her esophagus is gone. The doctors also confirm she is now STABLE. Yahoo. Blessings on you, Richard and Esther.
