Young ABC Tales
Having joined the site sometime in October last year, I have really enjoyed the writing, reading and discussions in the forum.
Reading a thread earlier this evening made me think of the young abc site so I decided to give it a look.
I was amazed at the quality of work on the site by younger authors and I am rather envious that they have such a great platform to begin their writing!
The internet has such a lot of bad press when it comes to children and young adults because of the dangers lurking within in.
How refreshing to find such a jewel not only for young people, but older people to enjoy too!
Reading some of the short stories and poetry which were greatly entertaining, I found a couple that I really felt moved to comment on. I realise why there are no email addresses avaiable but I wanted to know if there is a way of sending some words of encouragement to these young authors. We all get a great sense of achievement and pleasure when someone praises OUR work, and I wanted to do the same on the young ABC site.
Reading through the entries reminded me of myself at 11 writing short stories in old school exercise books wondering if I would ever write a great novel.
I feel deeply moved and encouraged.
If any of you have not looked at the site, I urge you to spend some time on it! The writing is so beautiful.
