Middle East occupation

Well I just checked the latest 100 and "Middle East Occupation" still isn't in the first 100 after 24 hours of being posted! So is there some censorship going on here? Favourite Authors seem to appear quite quickly don't they?

Thanks Elf, I appreciate that you mean what you say but if you look tomorrow, then it will still have been 36 hours on my profile but not posted! So hey! You can say it is a mistake but it will still be a case of, “if I hadn't asked, it would have just gone by up posted!” Well for me that is censorship!

Na! Sorry it’s a crock of ****! There seems to be certain styles of writing that are promoted here and ones that aren't! So go fill your intellectual selves with what you recycle, writers to writers, not writers to public! That's what really counts

Creekend on the other threads you said that you had eddited it slightly over the last 24 hrs. It seemed to me that doing this used to extend the time it spent on the spike... putting it further down the list or whatever.. on the old site. Maybe it still does that. Pretty much all my stuff which isn't pg or 18 rated gets put on the spike. But I don't moan about it because I understand the reason for it. I've said it before and I'll say it again. We get all this stuff for FREE... with a lot of people working hard to give it to us for FREE.... I'd say that requires a certain amount of telerence when some things don't go our way.

Nope. When an editor logs in, he or she doesnt have to go to a specific admin page to work on the filter anymore... the work appears in *our* last 100 entered, with a bold P for pending next to it. Unmissable. I checked it last night before I went to bed, and several times in the day yesterday, it was NOT there. There was nothing pending at 10 pm whatsoever. I loathe it when people make snide comments about how favouritism happens, because its simply not true, and its rude in the extreme.

Well I hope you don't take that attitude underwater with you Bob@dive-master. I wouldn't want to dive with if you pretend about depth and duration just because the facts don't suit you. Glug glug.

It’s been a week now guys and honestly my piece was on the spike for more than 26 hours, sorry that some of you can't accept that was the case, but it was compared to some writers that posted here and were seen within an hour. There was no bad language in my piece as has been suggested that would have delayed it being on the spike. But I do accept Tony’s comment that it was a techno failure, shame that some of you don’t see it that way. Any site that promotes only 5 percent of posted copy, on my reckoning it’s about 15 percent of writers posting, will inevitably become sycophantic. I really don’t mean that you (contributors) or particularly the Eds do this deliberately. My view is that it happens as a result of the fact that there is so much stuff being posted and the site (sorry Tony) doesn't lend its self to promoting the average writer. That the good stuff just becomes common place, praised in the forums and then the authors works recycled. You receive a good piece from “so and so” so you expect a good piece from them next post! I am an average writer, and have written some really embarrassingly bad stuff. I would have liked someone to say on this site "hey Bob, that wasn't your best piece because......ect. But that doesn't happen on this site. You are either praised or ignored! And for the average writer posting here that is demoralising. I really feel the CEO is more in touch with what is not happening on this site than the rest of you. He has my sympathies. He and the original ethos of this site are noble. Unless you the contributors or someone with a big cheque book steps in to solve the techno problems here, this site will become just a clique! Good luck ABC I really hope you survive! dunno... but i dont think its doing his heart much good whatever it is. chillout creekend... nothing is worth getting this worked up about. merry christamas and peace to all...... *grins*
