I have somewhere over 1000, I stopped counting two years ago. It was an outlet for a long time. It still makes me sound like a nutter, but I also stopped being ashamed a couple of years ago. Down with stigma!
I DO have to work sometimes you know! But you'll be pleased to know that I am now here and ready to give you one, Em.
My tally includes,
ONe on left cheek just below eye. A tiny black dot, the result of tripping with a pencil in my hand. Age 4
One under chin sustained from running down the garden path with a door key in my hand and tripping. Age 6.
One in joint of third finger right hand. Result of bear-hugging a mate and jumping in a pond to ensure he got a ducking. As we hit the water I let go of him and spread my arms to support myself. My right hand found a broken bottle. Age 15.
Four inch scar on left fore-arm sustained whilst pulling the hand of mate (same one as above) out from between the feed rollers on a chaff cutter. His fingers would have been sliced into little discs. I was turning the cutter wheel (a heavy cast iron flywheel with two razor sharp blades on the spokes) As I reached over the wheel and dragged his hand out one of the blades sliced my arm open. Age 16.
Multiple scars to the heart as result of rampant hormones and opportunistic women. Ages, 19, 22, 27, 29, 35, 40, 57, 59 and counting. (seriously)
