Charles and Camilla

Well, as an example of how you can twist the 'rules' and get away with it, I say good luck to them!

I couldn't care less but I would like to know why they keep calling her Mrs. Parker Bowles? Surely a bit orf if you're about to marry someone else.

It's outrageous. I'm not dead, I'm living in a tea pot in Dagenham. I will become Queen, you just see if I don't.

I heard some BBC guy say that Camilla had the face of a horse and Charles the ears of a mule. Now, isn't a mule a cross between a horse and and donkey? So, what happens if the two breed? Wouldn't this be incest?

I am really brassed off with the way it's on the news ALL the time though... "text this number if you approve", "text this number if you disapprove". Where's the "press this number if you couldnt give a shit"? The media seem to be incapable of reporting a story once per bulletin then moving onto other stuff... only last week I was ready to knock up a torpedo and go sink that bloody sodding catamaran if I'd heard the words "brave tiny solo yachtswoman Helen" just one more time...

Hahahaha - Ellen! I know what you mean. Also, since they've already announced that they're getting married, why are the public being asked to vote on whether they should or not? Will there be an announcement from Clarence House in the next couple of days "Becorse we appear to have lorst the support of GMTV viewers, we have called our nuptuals orf".

Oh, Ellen is it? Dame whatsit, the brave little one who had everything on her boat made to size and has only slept for 3 minutes in 17 months blah blah BLAH. Yes, I am in fact churlish.

Have you seen this particular bit: Journalist: "Did he get on his knee to propose?" Camilla: "Orf coarse!" *dry heaves with face strategically positioned over paper bin* I'm sorry, can't help it, but there's nothing as cheesy as a formal wedding - white one's are even worse... *puts head down paper bin and barfs* [%sig%]

I desperately wanted a journo to say "Are you in love?" a la 1981 engagement doodah.

They deserve each other. He once said he wanted to be her Tampax, now he is she doesn't need one anymore.

well I'm very happy for them both. They're obviously in love and that's a rare thing in the world of the famous. they're not marrying for position (I don't believe she wants to be queen) or for constitutional obligation (a la diana) but just because of old fashioned love. I like Charles as you all know, and Camilla... well here's a confession, she's no oil painting unless it's a picasso (excelent portrait painter in his youth I know but you know what I mean) but there's a certain strength of form and well turned feel to her physique born from days in the saddle rather than a gym that kind of makes me see what Charles gets out of it. phrases like 'fine loins' and 'good striong back' spring to mind. You can imagine her in her youth returning from a hunt (which I despise but this isn't about that) all windswept and ruddy-cheeked, hair everywhere and the sheen of saddle polish and horse sweat clinging to her jodphurs, a relaxed smile through her breathlessness... oh yes I can see it now, she's the kind that likes to get stuck in when necessary and knows her own mind. fair play to them I say, I hope they find happiness.

If the palace hadnt interfered in the first place it might have happaned all those years ago.Nothing like adversity to strengthen the bond.Well Im happy for them, finally, at last.I think they are a grand example of how people can actually matter to each other a great deal.It is such an unfashionable concept. But then I would say that wouldnt I:)

Well I hope they spend the rest of their lives in abject poverty.

lol, missi - it'd be great reading a sort of Spitting Image style sketch of the two of them licking the patterns off their chipped plates in a council flat - something akin to that 'The Queen and I' book (think it was by the Adrian Mole woman).
